Koh lan- short getaway from the maddening crowd.

Koh lan or kohlarn as pronounced by the thais is also one of the beautiful escape zone from the city of Bangkok. Went there for 2 nights and 2 days. If one wants to just chill riding a scotty and lazying on many small quiet clean beaches, i suggest to add kohlarn on the list. It has 6-7 beaches. To get to kohlarn, take an early bus from ekkami station(bangkok) which is just for 119bhat. I took 8:40 am bus and reached Pattaya around 11. Get down at the bus terminal pattaya n take tuk tuk. Tell them to take you at the pier. I took 12p.m ferry which cost around 40bhat. From the ferry it took around 40min to reach an island.          

Either you book the room in advance or if its not a thai holiday season you may get the room. I went without booking a room and it happened to be long national holiday so i had a hard time finding the room since all were booked but luckily got a last one one room at kohlarn fc which cost 2000bhat for a night. The hotel was good enough since scooty with full tank,wifi n breakfast was included. I warn do not expect big rated hotels and fancy restaurants or big food chains in kohlarn. Its all small house resort and local food and seafoods which you will get there and one 7/11. I enjoyed my stay at this island because there are no big vechiles on the road expect for few passenger tuk tuk, roads are small, not too crowded beaches, good to just ride scooty yourself and explore and very few tourist...  It is just the place to chill if one likes to wake up early and sleep early. No go go bars nor pubs. By 8-9 the place becomes quiet which is what i liked the most.....
