Dochula Pass

Anyone who loves winter will be excited to experience the chilly weather and sometimes snowfall at Dochula Pass at a dizzying height of 3,100 m. This is reason enough to drive all the way from Thimphu to Dochula.

Dochula Pass, Bhutan is not the highest mountain pass, but it surely is one of the most beautiful passes in the world.

Punakha

Phallus paintings in Bhutan are esoteric symbols, which have their origins in the Chimi Lhakhang monastery near Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan

There are a bunch of names written on traditionally-made paper, and one can choose from there. This temple is mainly for couples having difficulty conceiving a child.” as per local stories .

Bodhi trees, the very tree Buddha sat under when reaching enlightenment, are surprisingly rare in spiritual Bhutan, and their grand yet relaxed presence offers a holistic vibe

The surrounding countryside, with its perfectly plotted fields and mountain feet spilling into the valley, is shrouded in light blue, a chill permeating the air.

There is no public transport available on this route as buses between Haa and Paro ply through an alternate route via Chhuzom. We booked a taxi from Haa to Paro at Nu. 1000 and it took us around 3.5 hours to reach Paro.

Photo of Chele La View Point, Bhutan by Vinay Dutt Purohit

The drive to the pass, through either Paro or Haa valley, is via thick dense forests which makes for an amazing adventure , And that's me !!!!!
