The Most Overrated Two Popular Romantic Destinations#OverratedDestination

Where do you want to go in europe for honeymoon?I always hear most of them answering it as Paris and venice .But once you visit the two cities you actually think they are the most overrated and hyped.

Paris

Paris is always on everybody's bucket list though it may be a bachelor trip or a honeymoon trip or a family trip,because indian movies always depict Paris as the most beautiful place in the world.But in reality,it doesn't meet many of our expectations.It has many things to do,but people only fancy the Eiffel tower.

As a citizen of paris,I always hear tourists who visited eiffel tower saying, its just a Iron piece nothing more than that,because they imagined it as some dreamy place and felt disappointed after viewing it.In pictures,surely it will be so beautiful,but in actual case, you don't have that feel.

Because of its hype,Paris now became the most expensive city as well,so you have to empty your pockets if you like to visit it.The main thing about paris is language which makes it even backward.People here doesn't speak english,so it will be very difficult to communicate . It also has the problem of pick pocketing at main tourist places,so you have to be very careful at all times.

The outskirts of paris are more beautiful than the city itself. The 20 arrondissements are very hard to live mainly for the people from other countries.They are very congested and you find the streets are not so pleasant as they are always filled with cigarette pieces and ash everywhere.If you book your stay in arrondissements,you will feel very pathetic.

It is always crowded throughout the year in main tourist spots so you dont feel your visit worth the money.The main area which I hate the most in paris is the Gare du nord Indian markets where the situation is even worse,I always fear to go to that place alone even I stayed more than a year here.

The Disneyland in paris is also hyped as the ticket prices are high and you have to wait in a long queues to get into a ride.You can't cover the two parks in one day-Disney park and Walt disney studios,so you can't make worth of your money.The not to be missed rides are always crowded and you have to wait atleast 45 minutes for every ride. You feel exhausted standing more and enjoying less.But the atmosphere of disneyland is so good for children and for the people who visit it for the first time.The Fireworks and disney characters parade will make it a worth visit once.

Though Paris has cons,it can be visited once with less expectations.

Venice

As described in blogs ,and by photos I felt venice as the most romantic city,but when I visited I didn't feel any charm in it.It may be because I have visited more beautiful places like switzerland and spain before,or may be it is over crowded.

I didn't see any Wow things in venice.The Doge's palace,St.Marks Square everything felt quite normal.Some of the bridges were good to have a view.The much hyped Gondola ride was not very interesting and the travel time is less and cost is high.Some streets seem to be very old and over crowded in venice,You find it difficult to breathe in those streets.I feel it is very much commercialized because of its hype.

One of the islands ,Burrano of venice is also much hyped.The colour of houses seems to be somewhat faded and there is nothing to shop much as well.The famous laces of burrano are also not affordable.

I expected to have a good pasta in venice,but I was very much disappointed.I didn't find a good one in all three places rome, pisa and venice in italy.Only option for vegeterains was pizza that too either Margherita or cheese pizza.

In all these,I only found Torcello island somewhat good.Though it is very small,there were less crowd and wineyards were present along the waterways.The church view from outside was good.

We just spent one and half day in venice,I felt that was enough to see the main things.Though it has disadvantages,the only thing that attracts us is the history it holds.The 14th century city withstanding floods,still maintains to stand still as the Floating city of the world.
