Want to vacay like celebrities? Built in 1886, Elsewhere, a beach resort in Goa should be on your travel list. Located in Mandrem, this place is owned by the famous photographer Denzil Sequeira. The resort is located on a spit of a land jutting out of the sea, cut off from the mainland by a salt water creek.
Fun fact: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have enjoyed a stay here and remember the famous Vogue shoot which featured Anushka Sharma? Guess what, it was shot in Elsewhere Goa as well!

The colonial homes were restored to create this boutique property to give you a peek into the Goan-Portuguese charm with certain modifications that allow for modern luxuries and comfort.
The resort offers you stay at one of the 5 houses or in the tents right across the creek. The 5 houses have their own uniqueness and charm.
The Creek House:
A one bedroom suite facing the creek, this house has its own sit-out and a lovely bamboo jetty over the creek.
The Bakery:
2 bedrooms with balconies, this house in 1800s was used as a Bakery. Do you think you’d still be able to enjoy the fragrance of freshly baked bread? Maybe not, but you will surely enjoy the ocean view from the balconies.
The Piggery:
2 bedrooms with balconies, it was an extension to the main house where the livestock was kept. But don’t worry it’s now a beautiful villa with an amazing view.
The Captain’s House:
3 bedrooms. One of the bigger houses in the resort, it offers great beach views with its own patio that acts as a great place for family dinners or candle light dates.
The Priest’s house:
3 bedrooms. This beautiful house offers amazing beach views as well.
Otter Creek Tents:
Elsewhere offers 3 tents facing the creek. All of them have a bamboo jetty and a sit-out over the creek.
The food is served in a beautiful dining shack and the in-house cook provides meals from a vast menu. You can have a good time here with your loved ones over a cold pint of beer or a glass of wine.
Things to Do
• Being secluded from other tourists, the private beaches are ideal for your vacation. Build your sand castles with no worries of it being destroyed by crowds and enjoy the cold and clean water of the ocean.
• They have a Yoga shala with instructors specialized in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Iyengar. Don’t know what they mean? Well, you need to go there to find out!
• They also offer massages in the comfort of your own house/tent. They craft your massages depending on your needs: therapeutic, calming, rejuvenating or intense.

Make note: The resort is accessible only from October 15 to May 15 every year. They’re closed from June to September due to Monsoons.
HOW TO REACH?
Address: Mandrem, North Goa
Goa is pretty accessible through air, rail and roadways. The property is situated in North Goa, about 30 minutes from Calangute, Baga or Panjim and a little over an hour’s drive away from Goa’s Dabolim Airport.
Things get a little interesting though!
Since the place is cutoff from the mainland, the road ends about 30 meters from the creek so you get to enjoy a short walk through beach houses, sandy tracks and a beautiful 60 meter long bamboo bridge.
