"CHAUSATHIJOGINI" chausathi means '64' jogini means the goddesses or 'Yoginis'.
This temple is nearly about 1100 years old. It is situated in Hirapur near about 20 km from the capital city of Odisha that is Bhubaneswar.
This temple is UNESCO protected.
It is full of history, heritage and full of miraculous spiritual activities which have been happened till date.
This temple is like a "yantra" Which was used for the "Tantra sidhi".In ancient days, thousands of Tantriks came to complete there tantra sadhana to this Temple.
As you can see it is totally different from any other temple in the whole world. It is circular in architecture as the fact is our Parliament's architecture is taken from this temple itself by sir "Edwin Lutyens' the British architect who design the capital city of India.
When you enter the temple you will gonna see Lord Shiva's temple which will make you feel like something auspicious is there as you realise that he is the guardian of the temple. So, your work is to first bow down there, pray to him, take some blessing and then go to the main sanctum.
There is also a statue of Maa Parvati which is kept beside Lord Shiva's temple that statue is so mesmerizing for me which I can't explain just look at the photo below.
This temple is so miraculous and spiritual that the muslim invaders of that time tried to destroy the temple but were not succeeded. "Kalapahad" named person of that time who had destroyed many temples in Odisha also tried but was not succeeded. You just come and visit the place you will definitely feel the Auspiciousness of the place by your own.
This temple is made in the form of Shiva linga and the Shakti. As you will get to see the center of the temple is like the Shiva linga and around the linga The shakti of Maa Parvati is there and in the round wall the "Joginis" are placed with there identical "wahanas" As you can see in the photos I have clicked below.
There are 60 joginis placed in the round wall and 4 joginis are at the center sanctum or on the wall of the mandap. This mandap was actually where the Tantriks used to sit and complete their "tantra sidhi" after that the energy from the above earth came and get absorbed by the Tantrik on that holy "sadhana mandap" and this complete the sidhi which I heard from the priest there.
It is so spiritual and so miraculous that when I was listening to this I literally got some goosebumps there.
Yes, you can also have the same feeling if you listen all these things from the priest with the physical prensence of yourself there.
Unfortunately, one of the Jogini was missing as many believe that some Tantrik took it away so that he can get his every wish fulfilled.
It may be a myth but yes one jogini of 64joginis is not there.
The worst thing is that it is a real heritage of our country even UNESCO protects it but there is so less amount of tourism activities happening there. So, one of my humble request is to travellers that please come and visit this undiscovered marvelous place which is in the same time full of history, heritage and spiritual experiences.
