Hemsedal is a village in Norway's Scandinavian Mountains. It’s home to the Hemsedal and Solheisen ski resorts, which offer downhill and cross-country runs.

It was weekend trip with my colleagues, and I would say they were the most excited for skiing. Me...not so much. But I do wanted to try my hand at it, which I did briefly and it was an adventurous experience.

I tried cross country as for the beginners its advisable to start with it. Go for downhill once you feel comfortable with cross country and have practised enough that you wouldn't break your leg.

Hemsedal has a very good downhill track and apart from that there are numerous cross country tracks around 10-15min drive away.
Other than skiing I enjoyed the serene beauty of the place. It was quiet and peaceful, and a perfect destination to revive your energies and come back with a boost.

We were carrying all necessary raw material to cook so that we don't miss home food. It's difficult to get good food when going to a cabin hence its advisable to carry it along with you. Most importantly carbs, and not to forget maggi.

Also don't forget to carry a first aid kit. It's always good to have a Volini handy after a day long session of muscle breaking.
We travel not to escape life, but life not to escape us. We must rejuvenate ourselves from time to time by treating us with small travels.
