Day 1:(Central & South Kolkata)
Start by taking a taxi south to Kalighat Kali, the city's most popular temple. After that, go next door to Mother Teresa's Nirmal Hriday home for the poor and dying. If you're a bookworm, visit the National Library, which is housed in the 300-year-old former summer residence of Prince Azim-us-Shan, Emperor Aurangzeb's grandson. Day:2(North Kolkata)
Go to Howrah Bridge early in the morning to see people bathing on the ghats (steps leading down to the Hooghly River) or the chaos at the colourful flower market (you need to arrive before 7am). You will drink chai while watching the stallholders thread marigold garlands for the gods and bridal headgear from tuberoses and daffodils.
