We are well versed in the rich and diverse culture that India has to offer. Every culture differs from the other about its Traditions, and Cuisines.
Last week I had an opportunity to try one of those cuisines that aren’t mainstream in the Indian food market and I am quite sure a lot of you aren’t aware of it.” Bihari Cuisine”.
Pot Belly a Cafe in Chanakyapuri, in Delhi that serves on the finest and a few that serves “Bihari Cuisine”. They have commercialised what Bihar has to offer, its cuisine and they have done a pretty good job. From “Champaran slow-cooked meat” to Biriyani, From “litti choka” to Bagiya they have all those delicacies that are cooked in Bihar Household.
So last week I along with my friends decided to visit “Potbelly ” and try out different Bihari Cuisine. And trust me It is one of those places where we hardly spoke a word and only eat.
A few of these dishes you won’t find anywhere is Bagiya, Raspua and many more.
For starters, we decided to go with Bagiya Basket. For those who aren’t aware of Bagiya, it is a steamed dumpling of rice flour stuffed with lentils and served with chutney. It is one of the healthiest and satisfying staters.
For the main course, we decided to dive deep into the menu and ordered Puri with Mutton and litti with Mutton followed by Makahana Kheer for dessert.
Honestly, I am still drooling over while writing this. When in Delhi and want to try something different, pot belly will be a wonderful stop and I am sure once you visit there it will be one of your regulars.
