Zostel, South Delhi is one of the best places to stay. After a awesome breakfast in Zostel, I met a rider friend from Delhi who accompanied me to explore the Delhi city. We decided to visit 4 beautiful places of Delhi. We first visited Qutub Minar – the UNESCO World Heritage site is the 2nd largest Minar of India. It is made of red sandstone and marble. After spending an hour here, we had some food and headed straight to Red fort. It is a historic fort and was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty for nearly 200 years, until 1856. The fort is located in the centre of Delhi and houses a number of museums. From here we wanted to explore the Baoli – “Ugrasen ki Baoli” – the name itself piqued our interest to a great height while we were researching Delhi for the first time. You will not believe until you visit the place that such an ancient monument lies hidden among the tall towers of the posh area of New Delhi. Credit also goes to the movie PK starring Aamir Khan for creating awareness about Agrasen ki Baoli. Actually, it is here where PK, the alien played by Aamir Khan took shelter in the movie. Later after spending an awesome evening here, we rode our bikes to India Gate. The India Gate (originally called the All India War Memorial) is a war memorial located astride the Rajpath, on the eastern edge of the "ceremonial axis" of New Delhi formerly called Kingsway. India Gate is counted among the largest war memorials in India. Every Republic day, the Prime Minister of India visits this place in order to pay their tributes to the Amar Jawan Jyoti. After that the Republic day parade starts. Time required to explore all these 4 places will be approx. 6 – 8 hrs. Stay tuned for the next interesting blog about Delhi.
