Even though travel restrictions are gradually easing up, looking at the daily COVID-19 cases in India, international travel like it used to be is a far cry away! But that doesn’t (and shouldn’t) stop us from dreaming about travel and all the places we’ll someday get to visit again!
Food is an important aspect of travel for many of us and plays a pivotal role in how we experience a place. Keeping this in mind, here are five restaurants in Delhi that home-deliver delicious food that will surely transport you to the featured countries!
Burma Burma offers specially curated dishes from Myanmar, including samosa soup, tea leaf salad, mustard rice, and oh no khowsuey!
Yeti has been my favourite restaurant in Delhi for a long time and I've missed it a lot during the lockdown! Thankfully, they deliver! Try their thakali thali for a taste of Nepal - although I love pretty much everything on their menu! (Warning: food is spicy!).
Not many Delhi-ites no about this hidden gem - Mazaar offers the most delicious Afghani food. I highly recommend their Afghani pulao (Qabuli Uzbeki) paired with one of their gravy dishes. Yum!
Many restaurants in Delhi serve Japanese dishes like sushi, but few are as authentic as Guppy. Undoubtedly a bit more expensive than the average Asian restaurant, this is a must try for special occasions in lockdown!
A decade ago there was no chance of eating authentic Vietnamese food in Delhi, but things have changed for the better in recent years! Steamed rice cake, pho and banh mi made at Little Saigon feels like a trip down memory lane (in Hanoi).
