Have you ever thought of a river which is just like the Bermuda triangle? There is a dark side to Delhi as well which a lot of us are not aware of. There is a lake in Northwest Delhi, Rohini that is counted as one of India's most haunted places. Khooni Nadi is one such place in the metropolitan city, the name in itself is quite spooky and I cannot even imagine how it will be to visit this place. Read on to know more.
Khooni Nadi
Located in the Rohini district, Khooni Nadi is a small stream surrounded by trees and is believed to be a haunted place, as the locals living in this region have noticed several mysterious incidents here. Though there’s not much proof of the place being haunted, it does scare people living in the nearby area. You’ll rarely find any human in the area as the sun sets. Khooni Nadi or the Bloody River is believed to be among the most haunted places in Delhi.
What's the Story?
If the stories and locals are to be believed, it is said that the river tries to pull in, whoever enters or even tries to touch the water body. Many have lost their lives here, but many of them are believed to be suicide cases or accidents. And the biggest irony to notice here is the depth of the water which is a shallow stream, seeming it can't take any life, but in reality, it does. Also, the fact that bodies that get drowned have never been recovered is really quite creepy.
The locals say that you may hear crying noises and other spooky sounds near Khooni Nadi. In fact, some say that one feels a spooky vibe that someone is staring, even when you are absolutely alone on the riverside. It is said to be the effect of black magic that has cursed the Khooni Nadi forever.
How to Reach?
The place being in Delhi is easily accessible by metro as well as you can drive down by yourself. Get down at Rohini West Metro Station first, you can ask anyone about the river, you will definitely find your destination after a while.
I know some of the paranormal lovers and those in the quest of mysteries might be excited to solve this unsolved mystery. However, our personal suggestion is to beware and not visit it alone or after dark. It is certainly not for the faint-hearted.
Is it just a ghost story, is there something paranormal, cursed or not, what do you think? Or all these ghostly legends just the creations of the fear hidden inside our freakin' mind?Share your story here.
