Delhi ,the capital of India has many attractions and places to visit. If you have stayed in Delhi, then wherever you go, Delhi will be missed, be it Delhi ki thand, khana language or the greenery and spacious parks which is not ubiquitous. Shopping is also one of the best thing about Delhi. The food here like chole bathura, momos, golgappa and street chat are some of the mouth watering food found here. It's not just people's obsession with Delhi, even Bollywood adores and loves Delhi. Many directors have made Delhi as their hub for casting the location of the film. India gate has been very beautifully shown in Rang de basanti, the green and yellow autos in Meri brother ki Dulhan, the Old Delhi was marvellously displayed in the movie Delhi 6. Not only the location but various personalities from Delhi can be tasted in the movie. How can we forget the bindass, full of life dadi in the movie Vicky Donor who left no stone un turned to appreciate her grandson and was always drinking. They are really different and funny to watch. Delhi in short has everything. The flabbergasting Delhi airport is the best in India. The lifeline, the metros, the malls, the parks and how can we forget the Parlaiment. It is the state where power exists and operates.
We all have heard a lot about this site. Red fort where every year the prime minister hosts the National flag on the day of Independence. Every year, a light and sound show is held to make you aware and reflect about the history of that period. It is situated opposite Chandni chowk in Delhi and one can visit this place everyday except Mondays as it is closed on this day. The entry fees is Rs 10 for Indians ad 250 Rs for the foreigners. It is open from 9:00 am to 6:00pm.
It is the largest mosque in India and is one of it's kind. The view from Jama Masjid is marvellous and one can see the rooftops and terraces of Delhi. When i had visited this place, I really had no clue that you have to be very decently dressed like hands should be covered. So I had to take a duppata on my head. So before going to the mosque, one should be dressed properly. There is no entry fees for this place and he mosque closes before sunset so you will have to visit this place before sunset.
Remember the lines from the movie Kabhi khushi kabhi ghum," Chandu ke chacha ne Chandu ki chachi ko Chandni raat mein Chandni Chowk mein chandi ke chamche se chutney chatayi"....Speaking these lines without fumbling was a matter of achievement then. Chnadni choek is in Old Delhi, where you find everything moving on the streets, be it the cars, scooters, hand pulled carts, animals creating buzz and chaos. There are ample of shopping markets and bazaars where electronic items , clothes and jewelleries can be purchased at a lower price. Even the food here taste worthy.
Humayun's tomb is the place which has the Mughal emperor Humayaun's body preserved. It seems like Taj Mahal because it was built due to inspiration. The architecture of the tomb is incredible. Itis believed that it was constructed to signify the Muslim rule in India.
India Gate is one of the most visited site when someone goes to Delhi. The ambience is just beautiful. At night, it glows which is very alluirng and pleasing to eyes. The garden here is very huge and is actually like a picnic spot where families along with the kids spend their sunday afternoons and evenings here. Various movies has the scenes of this site including No one killed Jessica.
The Lotus temple is similiar to the shape of a lotus and hence looks amazing at night due to the lights lit. It is made of white marble and the temple believes of the unity of all religions. The ponds and gardens here are very attractive and relaxes your mind and heart.
