Well, we found a substitute to your mountain sickness in delhi. It's Majnu ka tila. This area is also known as 'mini tibet' or 'little tibet' as it houses many Tibetan families after the Sino-Indian war of 1962. The area is built on Yamuna riverbed and stays cool even in scorching heat. So without any further ado, read this to explore Majnu ka teela with us

How to reach:

Get down at Vidhan Sabha station on yellow line of Delhi metro. Take an e rickshaw which will take 10 rupees and drop you at the gates of the tibetan colony.After reaching there:

Explore the dark, damp and uneven alleys. These instagram worthy lanes ill definitely remind you of hill stations. Pretty lanes

Pretty Doors SHOP and EATThese two things are the must that should be done whenever visiting there.Shop because they have amazing and fashionable items at quite reasonable price. They don't bargain much, so be prepared for it. Haggling won't work, so once you set your eyes on something. Buy it.Items which we definitely suggest you to buy- shoes, socks, yak wool shawls and stole and bags. These items stand apart from other markets of Delhi.Eat everything if you are not averse to trying new food items. They have most of the cafes serving authentic tibetan food. Even the cafes are very beautifully done, they are very peaceful and silent. Thank god at least we found places without blaring music. It's a go go place if you want a quality time with your friend or lover.Personal suggestions of food items: Variety of Chais. Cakes and Shakes. Laphing (will describe more about it in next point).

TRY LAPHING If you are a fan of spicy food, you are missing on a lot of things if you haven't tried this. Don't try the soupy one, try the dry one, its better. The filling which they use is soya. Many people are apprehensive of trying it because they think it has a non vegetarian filling but no it's soya, you can count on us for that.

Visit the monastery. Sit there and you will feel the good vibes.

This place also has hotels and travelling agency, so if you are planning to visit Delhi and stay somewhere in north delhi, you can keep this option open. They have good rooms at reasonable prices.
