Coming back to my hometown of New Delhi after close to a decade (8 years!), brought a much needed clarity to my senses. To preface, my work and family have taken me places around the globe. My current, being Delaware, USA. My return to the city was a combination of my wife's insistence, to have the kids visit the motherland, and my desire to re-visit the streets I grew up in. I remember hanging out with friends around CP, bunking classes, watching movies at the local theater (which I realized became a PVR multiplex now). The most crucial bit of trivia you must know, is that my father owned a now defunct Dhaba around the outer ring, almost 10 years ago. I visited the place, and the shops around it. To my surprise, a few people remembered my father, and also me! "Sanjeev Nanda... son of Munshilal Nanda?" one extremely frail shopkeeper even remarked, which was enough to wet my eyes, honestly. My trip this time was full of reminiscing my old life, shopping, and generally having a great time. I miss New Delhi, and promise to return soon enough.
