Day 1

So, For Republic Day Parade you certainly need tickets . And the ticket sale started from 4th of January this year(2020) and the ticket counters are :-

•North Block Roundabout

•Sena Bhawan (Gate 2).

•Pragati Maidan (Gate 1 at Bhairon Road).

•Jantar Mantar (Main Gate)

•Shastri Bhawan (near Gate 3).

•Jamnagar House (opposite India Gate)

•Red Fort (inside August 15 Park and opposite Jain Temple).

Counters open in two slots :-

1. 10:00am-12:00pm

2. 2:00pm-4:00pm

So I bought my tickets from the Pragati Maidan counter but let me tell you this one is surely not a cake walk.

I love to have multiple work done in one go So I planned it like,

Pragati Maidan hosts "The International Book Fair" every year in start of the January , hence I booked tickets for the Book Fair ( 20/- per adult from BookMyShow ,you can have it offline at Pragati Maidan Metro Station but it might get very crowdy so on-line ticket is better)

Due to Some Reasons I couldn't Buy the tickets in first slot so I waited for the second and then I came to know that the tickets are sold quickly and any centre has certain fixed amount of tickets to sell per day , so better come quick.

The ticket cost are-:

1. 500/- (Reserved)

2.100/- (Unreserved)

3.20/-. (Unreserved)

The 500/- tickets sell quick and are the least available for per day sale .

As I couldn't get the tickets first day , I set off on another day ,but I got late and reached by 11:00 am and the 500/- tickets were gone. I was told there is 50/50 chance for them in next (2:00pm) slot but As a wanderer I had planned to visit the Purana Qila Or Zoo in the meantime both are at walking distance from Pragati Maidan counter.

Urghh! Purana Qila is a quiet spot amidst the bustling city though cleanly maintained , Its only a spot for couples to spend their private time .

And I felt an alien ???? there .

But, I somehow wandered the Monument and tried to capture the serene and green environment there , It was peaceful. Then I again went to the counter and there was a queue from 1:00pm omwards , The counter opened by 2.10pm and I was among the few lucky ones to get the ticket that day (A few more were remaining only) for the 500/- one only one ticket is given per ID Proof ,make sure you carry them . Later on I visited the Isckon Temple too(Get Off at Nehru Place Metro Station of Violet Line) and ended the day.

Day 2

The Day ......

So, If u are a localite u might wanna get car ticket also but believe me get the metro to save the hassle as no other item except your MOBILE PHONE and WALLET(no coins) is allowed , not even the key(though there is facility for key storage if you take a car parking slip too but just in case).

REACHING THE SPOT !!

Yeah! It is one of the hard tasks as many roads are closed and there is strong security at every intersection. Nearest Metro Stations to the event are closed (Central Secreteriat , Udyog Bhawan on Yellow Line ) So here comes the important part, Watch out on your ticket .. It will be mentioned whether your place is in North Or South (Mine was ENCL 10 ,RAJPATH SOUTH)... If your place is in south get off at LOK KALYAN MARG(open from 5;30 to 8;45 am on 26 January) from there a near 3 kms walking distance to the venue, if it is north then get off at Patel Chowk ,which is around 1.5 kms from venue. Now the earlier you reach the lesser hassle and lesser your wait time in many of the security checks. I saw many people troubling with keys. Also avoid black Handkerchiefs and Caps . Sometime they prohibit that too. Early reaching gives you more chances to sit at front ,the venue opens from 7:00 am. Be warm and keep yourself packed in the morning chill. DO NOT CARRY ANY BAG OR SOMETHING ELSE (only mobiles and wallets)!!!

The chills and the pride you feel when the 21 canons shoot and there are flower showering from helicopters marking the start of parade .

After this Super Exciting ,Goosebumpy Event.

I walked upto the Udyog Bhawan Metro (opens at around 12:30 pm that day)but it was too crowdy.

Hence I opted for a YULU BIKE. They have some pretty cool electric bike for just 250/- Security Charge and 10/- for starting the ride and another 10/- for every 10 minutes of trip. So I cut the traffic easy and reached Khan Market on Violet Line which is around 4 kms. for 40/- (Fine Enough) and continued to my destination.

DO VISIT THIS GLORIOUS CEREMONY FOR ONCE AND YOU WON'T REGRET.
