Have you ever been to a super famous place like Amer fort in Jaipur and missed out on some cool nearby spots? I've found myself in that situation a lot. Speaking of which, let's talk about one of those places near Amer fort: Shri Jagat Shiromani ji Temple.

First things first, let's dive into the temple's history. The Jagat Shiromani Temple is a Hindu temple in Amer, Jaipur. It's got a really amazing architecture that impresses everyone who visits. The temple is all about Hindu gods Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu. It was built around 1599-1608 AD by Queen Kanakwati and King Man Singh I, in memory of their son Jagat Singh. "Jagat Shiromani" means "Head Jewel of Lord Vishnu," and it's a big deal in Rajasthan's ancient history. Inside, you'll find idols of Lord Krishna, Lord Vishnu, and Meera Bai, a Hindu poet and Krishna devotee from Mewar.

Now, let's talk about the temple's architecture. It's a mix of different styles like Jain, Hindu, Mughal, and South Indian. They used white marble and black stone to make it, and the walls and ceilings are covered in fancy carvings of elephants, horses, and other stuff. The coolest part is the marble Torans (ornamental arches) at the entrance, all carved out of one big piece of marble.

I visited the temple on the evening of February 22nd, just around sunset. It's super peaceful, great for sitting with one's own thoughts and feeling spiritual. The architecture is a photographer's dream, but if you want to see it in full sunlight, morning might be better. There's no parking for cars nearby, but Amer fort's parking is close enough to walk.

If you're checking out the temple, there are other nearby spots worth seeing too. Panna Meena ka Kund, Anokhi Museum, Sagar Lake, Shri Digamber Jain Mandir Neminath Sanwla ji, Sun Temple Amer and a hilltop spot for a cool view of Amer fort's backside are some options. And the best part? There's no entry fee, and the temple's open from 6 am to 8 pm every day.

And just to clarify, when I mention trip cost, I'm talking about overall personal expenses to reach the place, not related to the temple itself.

Spectacular Artworks
