Jaipur is the perfect destination to experience India’s royalty and historic splendour. There are many great forts and palaces that depicts the royalty of Indian rulers and Indian culture.
This was my first road trip to Jaipur and it was absolutely amazing. On 20th April at 6:00 AM, me and my friend Arun started our road trip from Gurgaon to Jaipur on my Royal Enfield. It was sprinkling at that time. The temperature was soothing and traffic was minimal at that time. It was the best weather for a bike trip.
After one and half hour drive we reached Neemrana which is about 100 KM from Gurgaon and is roughly midway in the Delhi-Jaipur highway. We had breakfast at Hotel Highway Xpress and the food was awesome. You guys should also try their food when travelling to Jaipur. Then we left for Jaipur. There were Aravali hills on one side of the road and the height of those hills increased as we moved forward and the view was amazing.
We reached Jaipur around 10 AM and then went to our hotel room for some rest as the journey was exhausting. Our Hotel was situated near Hawa Mahal and there are many places to visit near Hawa Mahal. Also the street food there is amazing.
After an hour, we left our hotel and move to Amer Fort. It is a very beautiful fort and you guys should definitely visit there. It was built by Raja Man Singh in 1592 and was used as a residence for Rajput Maharajas for a long period of time. It is an excellent example of Hindu and Muslim architecture. Amer Fort is associated with rich history involving treachery and bloodshed. Timings are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There is also a light show at evening at 7:30 PM in English and 8:00 PM in Hindi.

The ambiance of Amer Fort was awesome. There were a lot of tourists. The Fort is amazing with beautiful ancient wall paintings and gardens. You can experience true royalty at this place. You can also do elephant riding here which is a very famous attraction of this place. Amer fort, Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh Fort are located near to each other. Then we move to Jaigarh Fort which is truly amazing. It is at a higher altitude than Amer Fort. It was built by Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amer Fort and was named after him. Amer Fort and Jaigarh fort are connected by subterranean passages and you can reach from one fort to other by walking.
In Jaigarh Fort you can see the military uniforms, weapons used during war.
Here you can also see The Jaivana Cannon which is the worlds largest cannon on wheels. The Jaivana Cannon was only fired once by the Jai Singh II, as a test-fire in 1720.
After visiting all the forts, we went to Jal mahal which was truly awesome. The atmosphere and the street food there was amazing. Must try panipuri, bhel and papad there.
Then we did dinner at Thali House which is near Hawa Mahal. Rajasthani Thali and Punjabi Thali is a must try there.
After dinner we went to our hotel room and did some rest. At 12 AM we went to Hawa Mahal which looks so beautiful at night. There was peace at that time and the place was awesome.
At night we explored the pink city on my bullet. It was a wonderful experience traveling at night.
The next day we woke up early and went to Hawa Mahal. Hawa Mahal is incredible in both night and day. The sunrise at Hawa Mahal was very beautiful. It is built by in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. The timings of hawa Mahal are from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. There is a very famous cafe in front of Hawa Mahal and the food is amazing there.
Then we explored the street food of Jaipur.
We went to Rawat Misthan Bhandar which is very famous for onion Kachori and which was very delicious. They don’t serve ketchup with kachori and it is eaten without ketchup. It is situated on station road near Hawa Mahal.
After eating kachori at Rawat, we went to Lassiwala which is very popular in Jaipur for their Lassi. Their lassi was like Amritsari lassi. It was rich in cream and was very thick. Must try their lassi when visiting Jaipur. It is situated on MI Road.
We then visited Falahaar which is very famous for Shrikhand. Shrikhand is one of the specialties of Jaipur and should not be missed when travelling jaipur.
Then we went to The City Palace which is a great place for photography. It was built in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. City Palace was the ceremonial and administrative seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur. The timings are from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
After City Palace we visited The Patrika Gate and it is the most beautiful place of Jaipur and is vary famous for photography. The Patrika Gate is the ninth gate of Jaipur. The entrance of the Jawahar Circle which is the the biggest circular park in Asia on a traffic signal is through The Patrika Gate. There are beautiful paintings of temples, forts, palaces and other things on the walls of the gates which represents the culture and tradition of Rajasthan. If you travel to Jaipur then must visit to The Patrika Gate. It is open 24 hours and there is no entry fee at this place.
Our last stop in Jaipur was the famous Galta Ji Temple which is a pre-historic Hindu pilgrimage site. It is 10 km away from Jaipur and is very beautiful. I recommend anyone travelling to Jaipur to visit this temple. The atmosphere around this temple was very amazing. The temple is ancient and it felt like I had time traveled in past. There are a lot of monkeys and you can take prasad from shops around the temple to feed them. There are seven holy kunds and you can take bath there. You will find a lot of monkeys all around the temple. You have to climb the hills to visit the temple because it is situated in the hills and the way to the temple and the location of the temple is amazing.
After visiting Galta Ji Temple, we bid farewell to The Pink City and left for Gurgaon. It was an amazing experience travelling Jaipur. It left a beautiful impression on my mind that I can never forget.
