Namibia has several indigenous tribes that you’ll meet during your trek through the country. This includes the red-clay-clad Himba people – hardy desert survivalists who are quite friendly towards outsiders. Listen to the stories they have to tell and you might even learn a thing or two about how to thrive in Namibia’s deserts.

No African escapade is complete without going on safari and spotting some of the continent’s iconic big game. While there are several parks to choose from, your best bet would be the Etosha National Park – it's home to all manner of animals, including African elephants and lion. The park's popularity also means there are several hotels in Namibia to choose from nearby.

The vast stretch of secluded coastline that borders the Atlantic gets its name from the litany of shipwrecks that decorate its beaches. You can book a seaplane or a helicopter to get a great view of the Skeleton Coast, or you can race past the wrecks on an ATV!
