Tanzania is legendary for its wildlife safaris, mountains, African bush, white beaches, friendly people and political stability, and is home to the world-famous Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. It is also one of the oldest known inhabited areas on Earth with fossil remains of humans and pre-human hominids being found dating back over two million years.

The Serengeti National Park comes from the Masaai language meaning “Endless Plains”. This magnificent area has more than 2 million Wildebeest, which makes the annual Serengeti Migration such a spectacular event. 11.5 million of these ungulates migrate a distance of 1,800 miles searching for food and water supplies. With an area teeming with wildlife and epitomising the true African bush, you are sure to capture moments that will stay with you forever.

Depart South Africa on Kenya Airways departing at 00h40 and arriving Nairobi at 05h35.

On arrival at Nairobi International Airport remain in transit and book in to get your connecting flight on Kenya Airways to Kilimanjaro International leaving at 08h30 and arriving in Kilimanjaro at 09h40.

Alternative flights are available on SAA & Precision Air via Dar es Salam.

Depart for Lake Manyara. On your arrival book into Lake Manyara Escarpment Lodge on a Full Board Basis for 2 nights.

Itinerary

DAY 2: Wake up early for a Full Day game drive in Lake Manyara with a packed picnic lunch. On return to camp you will be treated to a truly authentic African experience when you are seated for dinner around a large fire in the outdoor Boma.

DAY 3: Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara before heading for the Ngorongora Conservation Area. Book into Ngorongora Exploreans Lodge on a Full Board Basis for 2 nights.

DAY 4: Enjoy a Full Day Ngorongora Crater tour with picnic lunch while exploring the area that is home to the highest density of mammalian predators in Africa.

DAY 5: Depart after breakfast for the Ndutu area in the Serengeti. Book into Ndutu Wilderness Camp for 2 nights on a Full Board Basis.

DAY 6: Take advantage of full day game drives in the Ndutu area of the Serengeti, capturing spectacular images of the dense wildlife in the area, followed by a picnic lunch. Alternatively, bush walks are available for the more energetic, perfect for macro-photography.

DAY 7: Depart after breakfast for the Central Serengeti. Book into Serengeti Wilderness Camp for 2 nights on a Full Board Basis

DAY 8: Be sure to capture hundreds of incredible images on a Full Day game drive in the Central/Southern Serengeti with picnic lunch. As this camp moves every 3 – 6 months, you will be sure to be right in the middle of the best game viewing area in the Serengeti. Dinner will be served in the main dining tent.

DAY 9: After breakfast you will be transferred to the Seronera Airstrip. Fly from Seronera to Kilimanjaro Airport. Take your connecting flight from Kilimanjaro to Nairobi on Kenya Air departing at 16h00 and arriving in Nairobi at 17h10. Stay in Transit for your connecting flight to Johannesburg departing at 20h40 and arriving in Johannesburg at 23h50.

Lake Manyara Escarpment Lodge

The lodge invites the incredible beauty of the African bush in – expanses of windows and doors mean that you have nature right around you as you sit in the comfort and luxury of the superbly appointed bar lounge. A spreading deck surrounding the main lodge affords you breathtaking views of the lake and the gorge upon which the lodge perches – watch pelican sweep the skies as you take sundowners, see the sun slip like a segment of orange into the hills and listen to the sounds of Africa nestle up to you as night slides in. Escarpment Luxury Lodge boast 16 excellently appointed and private chalets offering double, singles and triples. Each chalet has its own private deck from which you can view the lake below you and watch wildlife as it drifts through the lodge grounds. Abundant bird life fills the trees and bushes which grow right up to your deck – affording you the sense of being immediate with the natural bush of Africa whilst luxuriating in your private chalet. Wooden floors and wide windows and doors add to the natural feel of the lodge and every effort has been made to ensure comfort and luxury: large beds with sumptuous linen, leather sofas in your own small lounge area, handmade and recycled finishes in keeping with our intention to encourage an eco-friendly environment and a large, deep bath from which you can survey the bush and the lake.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Set in 50 acres of virgin Tanzanian bush in the Ngorongora volcanic landscape, this all suites wood log cabin style retreat is located a few steps from the Game Reserve Gate and 20 minutes drive away from the Ngorongora Crater that is said to have the densest concentration of wildlife in Africa. This all inclusive property features 20 spacious private log cabins with fire place, a restaurant, a bar and conference facilities. Indulge in moments of relaxation at the swimming pool or at the Mvua African Rain Spa after a full-day game drive. 20 luxury suites in individual cottages with open fire places in the bedroom and living room and large private viewing terraces with sofa and dining area. This camp is a comfortable and intimate tented camp that lies within the Serengeti Conservation Area. Ndutu Wilderness Camp comprised of ten tents, with en suite facilities, solar lighting and eco-friendly toilets. Chilly nights are taken care of with warm duvets, hot water bottles and gas heaters in the communal areas.

Serengeti Wilderness Camp

Serengeti Wilderness Camp is a seasonal camp and located in the heart of the Serengeti National Park, with access to arguably some of the best game viewing in Africa. The style of camp is simple but with every comfort being taken care of. Seasonal camps have the benefit of being able to move to some of the best game viewing areas of the park and every three to six months we move to a new location. Serengeti Wilderness Camp comprises just ten spacious tents, we provide comfortable beds with quality linens, en suite eco-friendly toilet and bush-shower off an intimate dressing room area. The tents each have a shady verandah, where guests may relax and read quietly or perhaps watch birds and animals. A large, airy, central dining tent offers a comfortable lounge area with a small reference library and maps, some games and a recharging facility for cameras and videos. Our safari chef will prepare sumptuous meals for your enjoyment and special dietary requests are taken care of. We also have a typical safari campfire in the evenings for our guests to enjoy sundowners and snacks, and relive the day’s experiences.
