Nainital, the glittering Himalayan town is as charming as it sounds. Surrounded by beautiful natural lakes all around it is one of the most popular hill stations of India. With hills in the background lake on the side and roads full of Maple trees, this destination is no less than a set of Yash Raj movies but even better.
And this is my hometown, the lake district of India - Nainital 💞
It is such a blessing to be living in place that is so scenic. It indeed is a postcard perfect place 💞
Staying in Haldwani, it is always easier for us to drive down to Nainital whenever we like having an outing. It feels so refreshing to just walk around the lake, eat at the street food joints and shop my heart out. There are so many things you can do when in Nanital, here are some examples of what we usually do when explore like tourists -
Take a Boat ride in the Naini Lake - Even if this is the most cliched thing to do but trust me you will love it. I have done the boat ride in Nainital more than 10 times and I would still do it again. Just looking at the mountains and the waves of the lake, there is something so peaceful about it.
Tibetan Market - Shop cute dresses & night suits from the Bhotiya Market, you will find all the latest designs. From jerseys to comfort wear, I absolutely love exploring this market every time. And do not forget to try the famous Sonam Fast Food's Thukpa, Chowmein & Momos
Take a walk on the calm Thandi Sadak and enjoy the view with a masala chai. Maddy took me out for a chai date one and it was the most romantic thing. We stood on the side of the lake, watched the shadows shift as the Sun goes down while sipping our Masala Chai.
Hike up to the peaks- Take a day hike to Cheena Peak or Camel's Back to get a bird eye view of the Nainital and Himalaya view. The hike is full of Rhododendron and oak trees. On every curve you will get a glimpse of the view. Sounds like too much walking? Trust me you would love the aerial view of Nainital.
Take a walk on the scenic Mall road - This is so underrated. I have done this a thousand times but would still go again. There is something about walking endlessly on the mall road, going from shop to shop or just sit in a cafe to have coffee and admire the view. We customize our name plate from one of the local places here.
Nainital is full of activities and a good vibe. One of the underrated hill stations but the most scenic one. You can explore the lakes nearby - Bhimtal, Naukuchiatal and Sattal or experience tranquility by just staying in a Nature resort, it is all worth it. No wonder why I love Kumaon so much.
