Khonoma is one of the most beautiful villages in Nagaland and India.It is asia's first green village.It is called so since agriculture is practiced without using any chemicals like pesticides.Farming is entirely organic.If you havent seen terrace farming anywhere and wish to see it ,then khonoma would be an ideal place.That said the scenic beauty of the paddy fields in which paddy is grown using terrace farming is absolute treat.The people of the village are friendly.We took a walk around the village parking our mahindra XUV 500 near a church at the entrance of the village.We had to register at the entrance of the village as usually happens when you visit a tourist place.We shopped some local snacks which were tasty.We enquired for a good hotel to stay.Many suggested dovipie inn.So we went to dovipie inn and it was very good.The location of the inn was amazing once you go to your room and open your window,you will be amazed by the picturesque beauty before your eyes .You feel so much relaxed and at home that you just want to spend there to relax and not roam outside.If you go to the terrace of the hotel you will enjoy much more as you can see the entire village as well as the greenish valley.I suggest the terrace if you want to hangout with friends by having drinks and other stuff.We stayed at khonoma for one day .It rained a bit and was covered by fog most of the time.It was really worth a stay at khonoma.Had a wonderful time...!!
