Night Trek to Kalsubai
I enrolled with the travel company trek and trails for the night trek at Kalsubai for Rs 1400. I boarded the non-ac bus from Western Express Highway metro station, Andheri. I reached Bari village at around 2 PM, from where we halted at Santosh Khade's house. There anyone with extra luggage could keep their belonging at his home.
Sunrise at Kalsubai
The trek started from Bari village, where our group formed into three teams with each consisting of a team leader. We paused at regular intervals to rest and sip water as the team leaders advised everyone to keep sipping water at intervals to avoid dehydration or fatigue. It took us around two and a half hours to reach the peak. On the Kalsubai top, there is a temple dedicated to Kalsubai.
Kalsubai Bai Peak
The legend goes that Kalsubai was a maid who worked at the bungalow at Kalsu village. Due to her employer's unruly behaviour, she ran away from the house and hide in the mountains. She was never seen again by the villagers. Hence a temple was built in her memory.

View of Bari Village
We started our descent from Kalsubai peak at around 8:00 AM. We had our breakfast that consisted of Poha and Chai at the midway point in the trek. By 10:00 AM, we had reached base village. We had our homemade lunch at Mr. Santosh Khade's residence. The food was delicious, while the quantity was generous. My new friend Pradul who is also a Mumbaikar like me started exploring the base village.
Lunch at Bari Village
The village itself is quite colourful, full of scenic views and mesmerizing landscapes. It serves as a great spot to observe the Sayadaris mountain range. We departed from the village at 3 PM, while I reached my home in Lokhandwala at around 9 PM.
