Another weekend came by and we were looking to visit a resort nearby Mumbai for our getaway for 2-3 days, Silvassa has been on our list from a long time now, it was finally time to tick it off when we found a place we were keen on visiting!
Khanvel resort in Silvassa is a three-hour drive from Mumbai. Our drive was smooth, we caught on to some pending work, took a nap, enjoyed our picturesque drive and in no time we arrived at our destination.
First things first, our goal this weekend was leisure and to completely rest it out and most importantly spend hours in the pool because that is one thing we always look forward to on our vacations. Khanvel resort did justice to our demands and gave us a comfortable and rested weekend. Although I do wish, we'd taken our parents along, why you ask? Let us tell you in detail:
1. Huge Property Spread Over 25 Acres Land
The resort is humongous, there are different types of rooms and suites located in different buildings. You can choose from deluxe, super deluxe and suite rooms. We were booked in the club room, which had a massive balcony and jacuzzi in the bathroom. In case you are wondering, yes, we did find it difficult to leave the room :)
They have a lawn, swimming pool, garden area, kids play area which ensures you get your dose of vitamin D and you are embracing nature during your stay at the property.
2. Homely Food And A Phenomenal Staff
This was probably our favourite part, the food cooked was authentic and tasted like homemade food. They serve buffet meals in the restaurant for Breakfast, Lunch, High tea and dinner. Can I just say, each meal was made with so much love and affection? The food was delicious, they made it a point to add a few Gujarati dishes which we relished! The staff I believe were locals, they were sweet and simple people who truly wanted to make their guest feel welcomed.
3. A Vacation For Everyone
Khanvel resort has made it a point to incorporate something for everyone, they have a bunch of things to do to make your stay a pleasant one. From a massive swimming pool to a kids play area, a garden, play zone with games like Carrom, foosball, table tennis, pool, etc. They also have a disco room which is usually open on the weekends with live music. There's a lounge area (this was my favourite of all), the vibrant interiors and comfortable seating made us spend quite some time there.
This is a great resort option for a family vacation, Khanvel resort with abundant space, warmth and homely vibe reminded us of our childhood days where we'd take an overnight trip with our extended family and have a trip which remains memorable for decades to come!
I must also add our absolute favourite spot, this resort has the old school family type swing on the side of a lake, it's is a surreal spot and is sure to take you down the nostalgia lane.
