I had only one day in my hand to see mumbai, so i wanted to get the best out of it. To me mumbai was always about living it than seeing it. I already knew the things i just can't miss
1. Mumbai's local train
2. Walk on marine drive
3. Vada pav
My friend dropped me at sion station & i got a ticket for CST from there. Mumbai local finally!! Its magic that one second you are standing outside looking at the crowd thinking if you will manage to get in & 20 seconds later you are so deep inside now that you can't find a way out. After 2-3 stops most of the crowd got out and i got place to stand at the door. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is a UNESCO site. It is one of the best railway station in india.
From CST i came walking till i could see marine drive & then i got a 180• view of it. I walked as long as my heart desired. Its a very long stretch. I then sat down and had my brunch. How awesome is that!
From marine drive, i took a taxi to gate way of india. I have been here before, lot of times with my brother when i was a kid and i have never seen it to be a quiet place. There are always 2000 people in any direction.

You can feed the pigeons, walk around taj hotel, take a horse cart ride or get your picture clicked with this beautiful monument.
From gate way of india, i got ticket for elephanta caves in 150 rs up & down. Interestingly, the ticket person did try to judge me & suspected i am a terroist(OK i am exaggerating) because i was alone. But that kind off says a thing about how people around fear i think. It was half an hour ferry to reach & then a few stairs to climb up. One need to buy ticket since it is UNESCO site.
After covering elephanta caves, i made my way back to marine drive to see sunset. And on my way there, i fulfilled my third wishlist for this trip. I got my VADA PAV. Now i can leave mumbai with inner peace. When i reached marine drive this time, it was completely different sight in terms of crowd. A stretch that long, and no place to sit facing sea. There were friends, families, couples, guy groups. I was just one girl, sure it won't ask for too much space to squeeze in ;)
