The cost i have mentioned is what it will take from Hyderabad. The cost includes flight charges(which were pre booked before two months so the rates are not inflated), if you prefer bus/train you may get a difference of thousand from the total cost.
I stayed at Koparkhairne in mumbai, upon reaching i got fresh up and started exploring the city. The first stop is Juhu beach (dont save it for the evening if you are roaming for one day, save the evening for marine drive). In mumbai its better to use Mumbai local trains.Use apps to book local train tickets so that you can avoid queues.
In order to reach Juhu beach, the nearest metro stations will be Santa cruz, Vile parle and Andheri train station. You can get down at any of these stations upon your requisite or plan. Use public transport/cabs to reach juhu beach from the railway station. Juhu beach is quite good and must visit place. Dont miss to try out the Golas at Juhu beach. I insist to try the golas.
The next stop will be Siddhi Vinayak mandir, why one will not visit this vinayak mandir when we are in Mumbai? If your first stop is Juhu beach, book a cab to Siddhi vinayak mandir and you can see the Bandra - Worli Sealink on the way. It is so amazing going through the sea link and having the view of Bandra.
The next stop for me was Ashok vada pav, Like how Chicken biryani is for Hyderabad..Vada pav is for mumbai. Never ever miss having Vada pav if you are in mumbai. And the best place to get it is Ashok vada pav. Ashok vada pav is very nearer to Sidhi vinayak mandir, you can go by walk or you can opt autos. Believe me, i didnt had lunch on that day, i had four vada pavs. They are so good that i had them like i was having my lunch. This vada pav is to die for.
The next stop for me was Gateway of India, If you are exploring with my itinerary, you need to go to Dadar station/Mahalaxmi station from Ashok vada pav/Siddhi vinayak temple. These stations are nearer to these places and you need to get down at Churchgate railway station in order to visit Gateway of india. From Churchgate station you can go by autos/sharing cabs/cabs.
You can go to elephanta caves using this boat rides near Gateway of India, Price will be 150 bucks for adults and 100 for children.
And the next stop will be the most wonderful, chilling, blissful and magnificent place in Mumbai, The Marine Drive. It is walkable from the Gateway of India/The Taj Mahal palace, or you can go by uber/autos/sharing cabs. If you follow my itinerary you will reach marine drive at the evening, which will be the perfect time to watch the astonishing sunset. DONT MISS THE SUNSET AT MARINE DRIVE. Trust me, it will be an unbelievable experience.
After chilling at marine drive, the next stop will be Mohammad ali road. Mohammad ali road is nearer to Marine drive, you can go by cabs/autos. It takes 15-20 minutes to reach. It is a food paradise especially for Non veg lovers, Have your dinner here, dont miss out the Kababs, Malpua and famous Mawa jalebi here.
Food at Mohammad ali road and where to try them :
Kababs : Hindustan chote kabab
Haleem: Hyderabadi Badami Haleem
Biryani & Dilli ka korma : Sahil Restaurant
Nalli nihari : Chinese n Grill
Maalpua : Modern House
