Hey there fellow travel enthusiasts! Today I want to share my experience of exploring the diverse and delicious cuisines of Matunga.
Matunga, a bustling suburb in the heart of Mumbai, is well known for its vibrant food scene. With a large population of South Indians, Matunga is a haven for anyone who loves authentic South Indian food. However, that’s not all the suburb has to offer. Matunga boasts of some of the best vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options that will leave your taste buds craving for more.
One of my favourite spots in Matunga is the famous Ramashraya restaurant. The restaurant has been serving some of the most delicious South Indian food for over 80 years. From their famous filter coffee to the crispy dosas, every dish served here is a delight to the senses. My personal favourite is the Mysore Masala Dosa, which is a spicy version of the classic masala dosa.
Another gem in Matunga is the A Ramanayak Udipi Shri Krishna Boarding. This place is always buzzing with people waiting to try their famous idlis and vadas. The restaurant serves authentic Udipi cuisine that is sure to make your taste buds dance with joy. The fluffy idlis and crispy vadas are a must-try when you visit this place.
If you’re in the mood for some street food, then you must visit the Khau Galli in Matunga. The place is a haven for foodies who love to try different street food options. From vada pav to pav bhaji, you can find everything here. However, my personal favourite is the Bhel Puri. The sweet and tangy taste of the bhel puri is sure to leave you wanting more.
For non-vegetarian food lovers, Matunga has some excellent options too. The Lucky restaurant is well known for its delicious biryanis and kebabs. The place has been around for over 60 years and has been serving some of the best non-vegetarian food in the area. Their mutton biryani is a must-try for anyone who loves spicy and flavourful food.
In conclusion, Matunga is a foodie’s paradise. The suburb has something to offer for everyone, whether you’re a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian. From authentic South Indian food to delicious street food options, Matunga has it all. So, the next time you’re in Mumbai, make sure you visit Matunga and explore the diverse and delicious cuisines the suburb has to offer. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you for it!
