On my stay in mumbai we planned to visit the Elephanta caves.
We started from Gateway of India. Booked tickets to the caves from the gateway jetty

We secured our seats in the boat and moved towards the cave...The seagulls all the way made the journey really interesting

Finally we reached the island 🙌

From here we took the toy train and then started ascending towards the caves. There were many beautiful shops on our way

The caves were alluring. We wanted to know about it in detail s so hired a guide. The guide was so amazing he told us about many things and views which we couldn't have known by ourselves ...highly recommended. He clicked some awesome pics too.

what I felt so bad about that how the Portuguese and later Britishers tried to destroy our rich heritage. The used bullets to destroy the idols and so many parts were broken. It made me think how can somebody be so destructive to think and demolish such great art and heritage.

Finally we went to the govt run restaurant to have lunch. It was average. Enjoyed the Pomfret fry Did some shopping (mostly window 🤣).

After that started journey back to Mumbai . It was a fun day with a close friend so cherished memories

Overall it's a great half day trip wen you visit Mumbai
