My friends and I were in Mumbai for a medical workshop/conference in the month of March.
So we had just one day in our schedule to roam around and see the big city of dreams - Mumbai.
We first started the day by having typical Maharashtrian breakfast at a nearby hotel.
We tried Misal pav, sabudana wada, kothimbir Wadi(made of coriander ), and few other local dishes.
Coming to mumbai, trying Misal pav is a must.
We then took a cab and went to do a little(read a lot) shopping in the local Street market - Colaba.
It is known for its variety of shops and stalls where you shop for the cheapest possible price in Mumbai!
We'll not much in store for guys, but heavenly for girls.
We also had a chance to drive through the Bandra worli sea link. It's an 8lane cable-stayed bridge connecting Western and southern Mumbai across the Bandra channel.
We then headed to the famous cafe on the street - Leopold cafe.
This old cafe/bar dating to 1871 serves continental, Indian and Chinese snacks, plus cocktails.
We tried a few pastries and desserts there and were glad to have come here.

After our lunch/pastry hogging, we took a cab to our next place- The Gateway of India.
It's an arch monument built in the early twentieth century and is a major tourist attraction.
We spent some time during by the place and had ourselves clicked for a few pictures.
Just by the place we also could see the Taj hotel.
It's a luxury hotel, just near to the gateway.
Didn't go in for a visit, but just had a view from the outside.

After being in a crowded place for a long time, we then decided to go to a much more peaceful place.
So the we left to the Marine drive.
We got ourselves a nice place to sit and watch the sun go down over the sea.
I had a handful of spiced Kairi ( kaccha mango) by the shore.

Spent the evening there, and the had some chat by the chaupati and then left back for our rooms.
Just had one day for ourselves in the city, and I could say that we had a great tour in this time.
