I was visiting Mumbai after a long time. Having spent good 2 years there I wanted to visit all my old favourites and make some new ones.
We landed around lunch time and checked into our airbnb at Lokhandwala. As much as there are things to do in Mumbai do not forget the things to eat
Thing to do on Day 1:
- Try out Malvani cuisine. Nav Chaitanya in Andheri West has lip smacking Malvani food. It caters to both veg and non veg people. If you are a fish lover do not miss their Bombay duck fry. It’s a local fish and not duck :)
- Enjoy a nice evening at Juhu Chowpatty. Perfect place to enjoy the sea with Mumbai street food. Pav bhaji, tawa pulao and gola are the must eats.
- Go to Dadar chowpatty. It has a well maintained park from where you can get a nice view of the Bandra Worli sea link.
- Eat vada Pav at Ashok vada Pav or Gurukrupa aahar kendra. Trust me it’s the best!
- Visit Siddhivinayak temple.
- Head to Cannon Pav Bhaji located right in front of CST station for Pav Bhaji and sabudana kichadi. Also try Mumbai sandwich shop beside it. It’s unlike your regular sandwich. Even if you are not a fan of sandwiches give it a try.
- Visit gateway of India and Taj Palace hotel.
- Spend the evening at Marine Drive.
- Walk from One end of Marine Drive (Nariman Point) to the other (Girgaon Chowpatty) to build up your appetite so that you can enjoy some tasty food at the Chowpatty.
We chose to stay at Taj Lands End in Bandra West for our last day. It has the best view of Bandra Worli sea link from its rooms.
Thing to do :
- Visit Kamala Nehru park at Malabar Hill. You can get a nice look of the Mumbai skyline from here.
- Spend sometime at Worli Sea Face.
- Go shopping at Colaba Causeway.
- Explore the cafes and parsi restaurants in Colaba.
