These are the tough days and tough time, the whole world is having because of the pandemic. I am a working person so it was not easy for me to be locked in house. And moreover being a travel maniac, for me it was damn frustrating and depressing to be at home for more than 6 months.
But this day of Gandhi Jayanti, being a holiday (for my husband and no online class for kid) we finally decided to go somewhere, even it is only sort of a day picnic.
Most of the places near us are either closed or not safe during this time so we searched the places which we can visit and return back by evening.
Finally, we decided to go to a place which is beautiful by both ways... Historical and full of nature... What else a traveller by heart needs????
Whenever I visit some historical and ancient architectural places, I just wish 🤔that I were there when it was being constructed and when it was newly built. If it is so so beautiful today then we evn can't imagine it's then beauty....
Here I am talking about #ModheraSunTemple which comes at second place after Konark Sun Temple. It's historic importance was carved there so I am not writing this, infact I am attaching here it's picture so that you all can read it in its way...
This place is around 90 kms from Ahmedabad in Mehsana district. Timings for visiting is from 6 in the morning to 6 in the evening. It is better if you can leave early in the morning because it is very pleasant in the morning after that it's little hot there. But as we were heading with a kid and during pandemic we could not take risk of eating outside, so we decided to cook food in the morning for the day and leave only after having our breakfast at home.
If you people are travelling during pandemic , I will advice to do the same atleast if we are going for one day travelling.
So finally, we left at 10 o' clock in the morning and it took us approx. 2 hours to reach there.
Frankly speaking, I did not expect so much of greenery and a huge landscape garden around the temple. But trust me, it is ideal for one day picnic, With family and friends. Entry ticket is only for INR 25 for indian nationals which is digitalized now.
They allowed us to take everything like food, water bottles, mat we brought to sit, phones, camera with us inside. Though we were all equipped with our necessities but of you want you can buy packed snacks, water bottle and beverages from a store at the entrance and drinking water taps are also there inside the temple campus (though we didn't use anything). Restrooms are also there. So overall there is no hurdle that can stop you to visit this place...😊
Beauty of the temple is mesmerizing... Lots of sculptures and carvings. Ancient stone images and statues of deities. With a huge rectangular suryakund or Ramakund (a water body which has so many turtles) in front with so many miniature shrines and sculptures.
Around it is huge lush green garden with many trees. Where u can relax, eat, gossip, play or even sleep😀.
We spent 3 hours there, have our lunch, played with my son, collected memories and left at 3 o' clock. Will definitely visit this place with whole my family and friends once the pandemic situation is over. Till then you also go and visit it😊. AND YES IT IS TOTALLY SAFE OUT THERE...
