Day 1. My first day started with a lie that I had told to my parents. They asked where are you going and my usual answer was to an experimental facility in Delhi. I took a flight from Delhi to Guwahati and landed in Guwahati Airport in two hours. I had earlier checked about the weather and it was showing nice clear sky but as soon as the plane landed, it started raining heavily. Now, I started worrying about my day as I have already booked a bike to go to Shillong from Guwahati. Then I Took a cab, reached the bike rental company and got myself a Bajaj avenger 220 for next five days. It was raining very heavily when I started riding. I tried to fit my self into my old raincoat but couldn't as I gained weight recently. Now the next task is to search a shop and buy a new raincoat. So lesson 1, always look for a better forecast before entering into northeast and a good raincoat is a must thing to carry. Somehow I got one and started my 100 Kms journey towards Shillong, the captial of Meghalaya. I reached in three hours completely soled update . The beauty of the pepole is that I have booked tent to enejoy the weather during my stay there but rain just ruined up all my plan so the owner of homestay have gievn me a nice room with mopuntain view in same price at last moment. I rested, had a cup of hot red tea (special in Meghalaya) and afterwards in evenenbing I went to Laitlam, canyon for a nice cloudy view of the valley.

Day 2: Morning I got up early. Last night was very rough as I was wet all day and the rain is still on. I packed all the gear again and left to visit Elephant falls. It is named after a rock formed in the shape of the elephant first discovered by Britishers. This a three-level waterfall and the last water stream is so beautiful.
I continued my journey towards the unseen into the outskirts of Meghalaya. It is so beautiful and the constant rain was making it even more beautiful. The whole place is so peaceful, a few houses here and there and the void. You can imagine the peace of Meghalaya in the next picture.
Day 3: Why is the rain is not stopping, I was continuously asking this question to myself. Riding bike in rain is fun but it makes everything a bit harder to reach. I first went to Police Bazar which is the central market or central point of Shillong city. The city itself is among the cleanest cities in India and is very beautiful. I roam around the city visited Wards Lake which is the main attraction in the city. You can take a boat ride or can enjoy your time sitting there peacefully. Fater which, I again took my bike went into the outskirts of upper Shillong. Again the same solitude and fun with light rain on the bike.
Day 4: Now its time for more fun. Let's ride to Cherrapunji. Everyone heard about Cherrapunji popular for maximum yearly rainfall. It's about two hours ride from Shillong and the ride itself is so beautiful, full of the mesmerising view of mountains covered with clouds, lookalike cotton clouds place on the top of the peaks. In cherrapunji, I visited Mawsmai Caves (archeological site), Nohkalikai Fall (highest plunge waterfall in Asia), Dainthlen Falls, etc. The whole day I roamed around the city visited all the popular sites and before nightfall, I returned to my hotel.
Day 5: The last day of my exploration, I visited Dawki Zero point, which is Indo Bangladesh border. Dawki river flows through India into Bangladesh is popular for its crystal clear water. You can enjoy a boat ride here and the view of the bottom of the river through the clear water. It's a 3-4 hour ride depends on your riding skills. The road is nice and curvy. It shows you all the shades of Meghalaya. At the end of the I went back to the hotel and the next day left for Guwahati, returned my bike and again a two-hour flight to Delhi. Hello Mom, My experimental work is complete I'm coming back home.
