Shillong

Shillong is a paradise for mountain lovers.

My first impression of Shillong was not very extraordinary, it seemed like any other hill station to me.

But then the very next day I discovered the magical side of this land of Khasi's. What really set this place apart from any other hill station is its long preserved natural beauty, beautiful landscapes, lush greenery, waterfalls and not to forget culture.

Most prominent attractions here are Elephant Falls (a name which was given by Britisher's), Don Bosco Museum and St. Cathedral

Elephant Falls are beautiful waterfalls divided in three stages, each one are naturally beautiful. St. Cathedral is a beautiful church in Gothic Architecture (religious or not just close your eyes and sit there, you'll feel very light) and Don Bosco Museum is a 8 store big and very well maintained Museum, very interactive place to understand evolution of North-East India and Khasi culture. One can also notch on some Khasi cuisine at their Restaurant. Entry fees for this place is INR 100/-.

My personal suggestion for all nature enthusiast would be to visit Shillong Peak where they'll get the the Birds eye view of this beautiful City, one can also opt for city view through Telescope which costs INR 15/- and needless to say absolutely worth it.

While coming back from Shillong one can also pay a visit at Air force Museum.

In the evening one can explore Bara Bazar and can buy souvenirs from their or notch on some great street side food.

P.S.-In Shillong Sun rises at 4 in the morning which is why market close at 7 in the evening.
