Day 1

The state named Meghalaya "Scotland of East" itself tells her story" Megh - Alaya" means "Abode the Cloud"
It is located in the hills of eastern Himalayan.It is one of the sisters of North East.
The state has number of valleys ,highland plateaus, lash green hills and is speckled with big water falls,living root bridges. It made up of khasi,jaintia and garo hills and has a rich tribal presence.
To taste the real nature , we avoided to stay at Shilong.We move forward towards Cherapunjee from Gwahati.
We stayed at a huest house named Sohra view lodge. Sohra means Cherapunjee . It is located beside the road towards Arwah cave. We enjoyed our journey glancing the beauties of Meghalaya from our rent car.

Day 2

Next day morning with tea infront of Shora valley was awesome.
After tea we went  for "Arwah Cave"
After that the journey started towards Nongriat village to see the "Double Decker living Root Bridge".It is an unmissable Meghalaya experience if you are up for a bit trek(approximately 3600 steps ).
We stayed there and enjoyed the lonelyness of that place.we also enjoyed bath at "Natural Swiming pool"

Day 3

Next plan was Rainbow falls.That was one of the  hidden gem of  Meghalaya.
If you want to taste real nature your next destination must be "Kongthong Village".
A village of absolute silence.
Different trekking root opens from that village.
We stayed there and enjoyed the night at bamboo villa.

Day 4

If you have not seen rustic boats floating in a crystal clear water you must go "Dawki village" last village from Indian side and the rivers name is "Umngot river". There are several home stays and tents beside river. We stayed at tents to enjoy the rest.

Day 5

Our next morning was for Dawki village.
We enjoyed breakfast and boating also.
And now time to go for "Umiam Lake Boat House" which is mostly unknown for travellers.
That boat house is awesome and well furnished.

Day 6

We left Boat house 11 o'clock and our next destination was "Kamakhya Temple".It is one of the oldest of " 51 Shakti pithas" situated on the "Nilachal Hill".We stayed there and early morning we went for puja.
That place is only 10 km from Gwahati.
