Day 1

This place  is an untouched cave and if you wish to have a real caving experience in Meghalaya then forget rest of Meghalaya and just come down to this place. The cave is located in Extreme South Garo hills and is called as dabokhol (it means bat cave in local language). Cave is house to hundreds of bats. It has great limestone formation with impressive stalagmites and stalagtites. The cave is one of the longest caves in India and might be in the Asia because till date nobody has ever reached the end of this cave.

This place does not have a hotel or restaurant as its not known to tourist and hardly anyone visits. If you wish to stay you can check with the guest house of Forest Department or guest house of Tourism department which are next to each other. The guest house of tourism department has problem of leakage and forest department guest house is preferable. Further, you will not get food here. You will have to hire a local for cooking food for you and buy all stuff for him to cook. The guest house does not have much electricity or gas connection and the food is cooked using wood for which u need to pay additional for purchase of wood.
