When we travel, we meet someone who makes our journey worthwhile. They travel with us, they eat with us, they care for us, they guide us, they play with us. They don’t judge you on the basis of caste, Nationality, religion or colour. You must be thinking that whom am I talking about. Let me tell you about my encounters with these beautiful and adorable things with 2 or 4 legs.

Been grownup in a family where pets were the part of family, I share a special bond with them. While growing up I had rabbits, parrots, dogs and a cat. They always make you happy, they wait for you, they greet you like they have met you after ages, they follow you everywhere you go, slowly they conquer everything that was yours lol! Still you love them with all your heart.

My Squad

While travelling I had many encounters with such adorable creatures. This all started when I went on my first trekking trip to Triund Hill, Mcleodganj. While trekking I noticed that some dogs were accompanying me. First, they used to go a little ahead of us then look back to see whether we are following them or not, it was like they were guiding us to the right path. In between whenever a shop came, they used to look at us as if telling us to feed them. All they asked was for some biscuits and a little pat on their head and they were ready to go again.

It’s not just dogs many times you meet different creatures like birds, horses, ducks, monkeys, etc. Let me share different stories of my personal experience with you.

I went twice to China on a research trip. There I stayed in hostels both the times.

On my first trip, I met a Parrot named Seven. Don’t ask me why he was named seven but he was one little, chirpy, and intruding fella. After the whole day of tiring city explore when I used to come back, he used to fly towards me to sit on my head or hand. This was his way of greeting me.

Seven -The parrot

On my second trip was to Guangzhou. There I met this bubbly, Lazy gaga (Lazy Gaya was her name), a cute little poodle who used to shake hands and play with everyone. I bonded with her a little differently as when she used to see me, she always came up to me with her ball, asking me to play with her.

Someone said it right that “the best things are wild and free”. My another such encounter was in the South Coast of Iceland. There I met beautiful and handsome horses. These horses were small and generally pony sized. I swear, they had more stylish and silky hair then me lol. I caressed them, fed them took pictures with them and unlike dogs, they posed too.

Icelandic Horse - Look at those hairs

In Reykjavik, I met adorable ducks. They came near the shore and I fed them. Even though they don’t interact with you, you feel connected just by seeing them and feeding them. Sometimes just that is enough to calm your soul.

A Beautiful duck of Iceland

There were many more incidents where I had the opportunity to meet creatures like Langor in Malaysia to whom I fed bananas, colourful parrot and black and white ruffed lemur in Singapore. All these animals made my every trip a special one.

Many of you must have resonated with this article. These beautiful animals become a part of your memories which you carry for your whole life. I learned that an animal is more human than we humans ever can be. No matter what the reason is for your trip, if you have also experienced such beauties of nature then I am sure that must have made you happy.

Happy Tripping 😁
