Mcleodganj, the beauty of Kangra, with the backdrop of Dhauladhars, must have been on everyone's Himachal bucket list at some point. One to begin with, or mostly the next one to happen. Its very close to my heart, one, from the many reasons being, my first solo trip back in 2015 with various revisits after. Hence, I am happy to share this list for everyone to experience as well 😊
5. Woeser Bakery
As much as its cutesy to look at, are its various sinful cakes and beverages. A very warm Tibetan lady as a host, this place is just where you need to be after a long walk in the market. The handmade cappuccino here is LOVE. They even do gluten free stuff!!
4. Crepe Pancake Hut
A pretty little place to relax over a book from their shelves and a cup of apple cinnamon tea or as the name suggests a pancake or a crepe. Its just the kinda place when you need some quiet, “me time”. You may just have to look for it a little, else you may walk pass it.
3. Illiterati Books & Coffee
Another “good looking” book lovers heaven with a view to die for, if you are lucky enough to get that perfect table. Walls filled with books, it makes for a very warm atmosphere. The vibe just gets to you, the very reason why one takes their own time to vacate their table. They also host music gigs.
2. The Other Space
The younger sibling of Illiterati or the new kid on the block, this ones’ very stylish and modern. It has a WIDE view of the mountains, is a co working space and an art gallery as well. The music and the entire vibe of this place is very city like with the valley backdrop. Best of both the worlds.
Yes, that’s me. This place will always be my favourite. You can’t get closer to nature than this in Mclo. It’s a little bit of a hike to get here, but its totally worth the effort and more. Simple menu, trans music filling the air and a very humble host who will even customise your “maggi in the mountains”, just the way you like it. This place will always have at least 2 dogs to befriend, open sitting area to lounge around and an unending view of the valley. Raw and natural.
