Alright.. So this was during the NH7 Weekender 2015 Shillong! We had a day to spare and we badly wanted to visit Dawki and Mawlynlong!!
While the rest of my friends were sleeping over the hangover.. Me and my cousin silently sneaked out.. Took the car and went to explore!
Mawlynnong lies nearly 3 hours from Shillong.. Well constructed roads and amazingly beautiful view on both sides.. English style Meadows and fields and Churches.. School kids laughing as we passed by them!! And the clouds kissing the hills with the sunlight slightly peeping in through it.. A pure romance of the nature!
Although I have never been to Ireland.. But as much as seen as heard.. It gives that typical Irish feel!! Pure beauty and slight chill!! The uniqueness was the shape of the hills! We generally see hills as inverted U or V shaped.. Here there are straight line hills with slight curves!!
The fairytale begins when we take a right from the main roads to the "18 km" strech towards Mawlynnong!
This being the most beautiful roads ever travelled! Straight out of "Wizard of Oz" or "Gummy Bears".. Pure magic.. a narrow curvaceous road with cute small bamboo plants on both sides!!
On reaching the Mawlynlong and a little struggle for parking.. We went 1st to the Eco camp.. The stywalk bridge is scary but must try! We sat thr for around an hour in Peace.. Only sound was that of the insects..
Then from there a natural stony path lead us to the Living Root Bridge!! The path was amazing.. Again Magical I would say!
The bridge was a little overcrowded but mesmerizing! Made of real living roots.. A pure example of nature and humans living together..
We headed to the village then.. And it definitely deserves the title of the cleanest village.. Well constructed small little village with bamboo dustbins everywhere.. And super friendly people!!
The tree house and Bangladesh viewpoint again is a must see!
We were short of time so couldn't go to Dawki.. Instead on the way back we stopped at a small waterfall near the roads and chilled a little!
Although just a day long! But this will be one of the most beautiful trips of ma life...
A glimpse.. The trailor of the trip:
