Travel is the inseparable part of my life. Due to this pandemic everyone got stuck at home. Even i could not get a chance to explore new destination. Suddenly i came to know that "Matheran" is open for the tourist. So, i could not resist myself to visit this beautiful Hill Station.
I started my journey early morning on bike. I stay in Navi mumbai, distance is approx 50 km to reach there. It was a foggy morning & its always a adventure to ride a bike through fogg. The roads are covered by green trees both sides. It was great experience to ride on this beautiful roads. Green trees, fogg and clouds was doing journey along with me.
I reached near the entrance. There is paid parking facility in Matheran. For two wheeler parking charges is Rs. 45/- & for four wheeler Rs. 80/-. There was que for temperature checking. The official checked temperature of each and every visitor. Even they maintained records like Name, Age & temperature of each & every visitor. Glad to see they took all safety & pre cautionary measures due to pandemic. All people used to wear a mask there. There is banner which shows Rs. 500/- penalty for not using mask. So, its our duty in such pandemic to use mask & take all safety & pre cautionary measures. After checking temperature and recording my personal details they ask me to go next window for entry ticket which is Rs. 50/- The best thing is along with ticket they give us pamplate which contains Map of Matheran, Points to be covered, Rate card for Horse, Hand Rickshaw, Coolie/Porter and mini train shuttle service time table (Currently mini train service is not available). Such pamplate is very useful for tourist which play role of guide.
After getting my entry ticket i started walking towards Market/Matheran Station which is the central place of Matheran. From there you can visit various points of Matheran. My walk from Aman Lodge Station to Matheran Station is all filled with the best memories. I started walking parallel to the railway track. This half an hour walk gave me a mesmerising experience along with excitement, best nature, lots of monkeys and best natural views.
After reaching Market/Matheran Station i moved towards points. I visited Lord Point, Charlotte Lake Point, Echo Point, Malang Point, Honeymoon Point, Louisa Point. The all points are more beautiful than my expectations. I spend around 6 hours in this beautiful hill station. But, i am not satisfied with this few hours, Next time i will plan for 2 days here and love to stay and explore such natural place in other best way.
