Galgibaga Beach is also called Turtle Beach because the whole northern part of this beautiful beach is used for turtles nesting. baga Beach is one of the three turtle's nesting beaches in Goa . And it is for this very reason that tourism infrastructure is not allowed to develop here. If you happen to visit this beach between Dec and Feb, you might be lucky to see some turtle nests/eggs. At other times, you might be lucky and see the olive ridley turtles making their way across the beach. The entire area comes under the purview of the forest department and they work hard to ensure that the turtles reach the sea safely upon hatching.

Galgibaga beach, small paradise of Calm, serene sea shore of Goa, is sandwiched between the Arabian Sea and a tiny hillock. About 1.5 km long sandy Galgibaga beach is a paradise for sea shore photography. The beach strip is about 1.7 km long and is covered with dense coconut, palms and casuarinas trees. This is possibly the cleanest beach on the Indian mainland and also has amazing smooth silver sands. Lifeguards are available on this beach to ensure your safety.

I used to stay in Margao, and my job is to explore each beach everyday whenever i get time. Some friends came and they wanted to go to a unique beach so i took them there.Better to leave early morning if you are planning for a dip, there are few shacks there.

This beach is located in the deep south of Goa, on the banks of the Galgibag river. It is about 56km away from Colva, which is a popular beach resort in South Goa and 54km away from Margao, the cultural capital of Goa.
