Day 1

Greetings All,
it's been a loooooong time..  I emphasized on the 'o's coz I did travel to explore few places however never had time to write about it.

Today I would love to talk about my visit to Sasihithlu beach , which is located on the outskirts of Mangalore (Dakshina kannada) city.  This gem is less known even to the localite. I had missed visiting this beach during my multiple travel to Mangalore, when I visited this place I was awestruck by its serene natural beauty and cleanliness maintained at this beach.

Sasihithlu is a beauty by itself you would see different shades of blue waters here due to meeting of two rivers I.e. shambhavi and nandini rivers  with Arabian sea Its a treat to one's eyes and not to forget the smooth white sand which slips through your fingers

Let me now talk about details to reach and what to expect :
*It's roughly 22 kms from the main mangalore city (take the Udupi bus and ask the conductor to drop you off near Mukka)
*You do not have public transportation reaching the destination however one can walk 2kms from the main road
*You can also hire bounce or vogo (two wheeler for hire) or auto or private taxi , if you dont own a vehicle
*Entrance fee needs  to be paid if you are taking your vehicle inside eg: 20/- for jeep and cars
*Carry Your Own water and foods..  As you have limited stalls
*Clean washroom facility available for Rs 5/-
*You will find people fishing and chilling out minding their own business
*You can also visit mukka beach which is roughly 1 kms from the entrance
*Sasihithlu beach is meant to chill around with frens and family and it's a non litter zone
*Mukka beach is more commercialized
*Be prepared for drying fish stench for a while as there are many factories on  the way
*Carry your sun hat and sun screen with you to protect your skin from harsh rays
* This place can be covered in half a day
*Entry to the beach starts at 8:00am ,however if u reach early you still have great view of arabian sea .
* Airport is roughly 25 kms from here
*Railway Station is 27 kms from here
*Locals are ready to help
* Less option available for stay , one can always stay at Mangalore or Udupi
*you can glimpse peahen or peacock in the forest surrounding the beach
* Pleasent weather during winters
* if you are visiting in the month of May 'the Karnataka surfing festival' is conducted during the last week .

I hope this helps .. In case if any queries do reach out to me.

Untill next time..  Do travel and explore..
