Winter Trek to Prashar lake

This was the day..for which we waited so long ..
Our trek guide picked us up from Mandi hotel at 8am. We reached Baggi village around 10am.It was the starting point of our trek. We booked our trip through Himachal trekkers. Or guide Raj, of Krishna Camps was most amazing guide you could imagine.. He was so helpful,jolly.. We started our trek around 11am. It took us 6 hours to reach our camp,8kms walk up the hill.

The trek was perfect.. it was completely serene.. We walked through deep forest with mixed trails. Some places were steep,some was flat, some were slippery.. but it wa perfect.. Not at all commercialized..You won't find single shop on way.. Just 1-2 places to refill water..

We crossed few villages on our way, most of them abandoned.. There were lot of apple trees on our way..you could just pluck and eat throughout if only you are there during apple season.

Has lunch on way in a abandoned government school. Our guide packed us a amazing lunch.

It was real fun to go in a group for trek. The view of snow clad mountains was feeling of Stairway to Heaven..
As we climbed few kms, we could see lots of Himalayan peaks from our trial.
Just a km before our camp, we found lots of snow and had good time hitting each other as well with snow..

This was our first time with snow..So excitement level so super high..
Our camp,Krishna Camps was very well organised and they had permanent pitched tents with mattresses and blanket.  Our guide put up a amazing bonfire . I must say it was chilling out there.

We already had 4 layers of warm clothes,still we were cold.

But the view, one side our tents, in between bonfire and on the other snow filled mountains..We climbed the snow ad had real good time there post dinner.

Our camp was 2.5kmsaway from Prashar lake. Next chilly morning, after waking, it was difficult to touch the ice cold water to even wash out face. We requested for some hot water.
We had our breakfast and left for Prashar lake ..Morning was more mesmerizing than the previous day.. And this time our whole path was full of snow.. there was a thin path in between two snow covered mountains.

We had a good photoshoot 😊😊..
We reached Prashar lake in around 40min.There is a temple dedicated to Prashar Rishi. He is said to be incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Temple was very beautiful and just beside it is the Prashar lake,named after the Rishi.

The lake has a floating island which changes its position during monsoons .. It is said no one has been sucessful in measuring the real depth of the lake. It was one of the most beautiful morning I had seen till now..

After spending some time in the temple , he headed back to Baggi..on way had tea and snacks at a local vendor near the temple. Return path was different from the one we climbed from .. It was much more beautiful as it was fully snow covered..

We reached Baggi around afternoon..Had lunch and left for Shimla same day.

In Shimla we checked in Kalawati homes homestay.. it was a very comfortable and beautiful stay. We spend this day just relaxing, walking down mall road. Went to Kufri for few hours, visited the famous Hanuman temple.

As we reached Kufri, surprisingly we got fresh snow fall for 10-15 min and then there was a beautiful rainbow appearance... Wow... What an end to our trip.. couldnt  have asked for anything better..
