After Spending a Year in Manali, I Fell in Love with Each of Its Seasons. Here's Why!

Places are like people.

They too have different seasons and a variety of moods. Often we visit mountains for a certain number of days and capture just a glimpse of what there is. Here are are few pictures and stories belonging to Magical Manali that keeps changing a bit with every new season.

Manali is a little sleepy and a lot snowy during Winter. At most of the places, water freezes in the pipeline, village folks spend days waiting for the sun, followed by bonfire nights. Spending a winter in Manali is definitely a one of a kind experience. We start celebrating sunshine and snowfalls. When the cellular network and electricity gives up, real friendships blossom. It is indeed magical! Here are a few pictures:

Isn't it magical, when every inch of every thing on earth is covered with snow and when the moon shines on snow it feels like a thousand silver—fireflies are dancing the night away.

Then comes, Spring and brings cherry blossom along with the beezee. The whole village is cherried with flowers pink and white with yellow mustard contrasting the snow peaked mountains.

It's almost unexpected when Summer tiptoes. Suddenly there's all the sun we had hoped for and we find everything around us coming back to life. Unlike this year, Summer is usually the time when travellers from all around the world flock to Manali. The cafes and hostels celebrate this season with live music, laughter and gatherings. I kind of miss it. A lot.

Monsoons are always surprising. Dramatic sky loomed with clouds time lapsing as rivers overwhelm the path. Everything is fresh with new life and apples make this time of the year so delicious.

Autumn is my favourite. Feels like as though an artist has spilled his palette ever so graciously on the mountains. Hues of yellow, reds, orange, and greens merge together with the clear blue sky and what a lovely view it all makes.

And then slowly steps in winter, completing a full circle of life.

It starts with chills from the snowy mountains becoming sharper with every passing evening, making, let's—light—bonfire sound like a comfortable idea. And all of us getting excited for the time when we'd walk and slip in snow again.

Each season has has it's own delight, just like life!
