Tanglang La Pass, located at an elevation of 5,328 metres (17,480 feet), is one of Ladakh’s spectacular high altitude mountain crossings. The spectacular vistas it provides, as well as the pure exhilaration of crossing it, make it a popular tourist destination in Ladakh.
This high altitude mountain pass in Ladakh is roughly 49 kilometres long and is located on the road from Debring to Gya. The pass itself is paved, but the steep curves and twists need the use of an expert driver rather than an inexperienced one.
Tanglang La Pass’s Top Attractions
The Tanglang Pass winds through rocky mountains crisscrossed by softly flowing streams, and their slopes provide a playground for oddly formed shadows on a clear day. The snow-covered peaks can be seen in the distance, with clouds appearing to perch on top of them.
There is a marker that announces your arrival at Tanglang La Pass, and it is a perfect spot to take a picture or pose with your family, friends, or the party with whom you are travelling.
You may also see bicyclists traversing the route, as well as other vehicles that traverse the pass. It may get extremely windy at times, and you frequently get the sensation of the wind smacking you across the face!!
