Four days trip to the hills. Bike ride and much more..

We reached Manali at 11 am , took a cab to vashisth where our stay was booked in Monkvish. This backpackers hostel is situated in khoshla village near vashisth. You have to climb around 50 stairs to reach this place. The view from the hostel was scintillating. Couple of hours later, we trekked down to a bike rental shop to rent a "Royal Enfield" for the next three days. We visited mall road in manali and explored the market. Came back to our warm ,cosy room sharing our first day's experience with a few fellow backpackers.

Day 2 was exciting for us as we planned to ride towards Rohtang pass, heard from the local people that the road towards Rohtang is closed for the next few months. We started our ride towards vashisth temple which was nearby. Then we started our ride towards kothi, which was an hour away . We parked our bike beside the highway and took an adventure sports package which included Quad bike ride to gulaba pass, ice sliding, skiing and zip lining. The up hill Quad bike ride towards gulaba pass was an experience of a lifetime for us. After 10-15 minutes we reached the snow covered valley and the view was mesmerizing. We finished our activities in the valley and returned towards vashisth. Riding back in the temperature of  -5°c was a bone chilling experience for us, thankfully we were all packed. 

Day 3 was just as exciting as we had planned it to be. We decided to visit solang valley which was on the same highway. Just about half n hr ride to the road that lead to the valley. As it was a peak season, the road was jam-packed. Thanks to the bike that we managed to leave the traffic behind and kept moving towards the valley. It was around the afternoon and the frozen ice on road started to melt hence making the ride slippery. We somehow, parked our bike 2 km away from the valley and decided to trek. Almost half an hour of trekking amidst the snow covered trail we reached the solang valley. Solang valley is much popular than the Gulaba snow point making it more crowded. This place also offers a range of adventure activities. We experienced cable car ropeway which was indeed a fulfilling experience for us. We decided to climb down to the point where we had parked our bike as it was getting dark and cold. The road was jam-packed and we could not move for the next 2 hrs freezing in the cold. Luckily the traffic moved. How can i forget that ride, it was freezing as the temperature was -10°c. We took a halt  in the  cafe "1947" and warmed ourselves. The day ended in the same warm common room sharing our experiences with the fellow travellers.
