A trip to the Maldives is one of those once-in-a-lifetime bucket list adventures. It’s something that has been on my personal bucket list for many years after seeing the stunning images and videos from this far-off-place in the middle of the Indian ocean. A place with mind bending shades of blue water, azure sands and luxurious resorts.
Our trip to Maldives started with a short Flight from Mumbai, where we flew to the main island of Malé.
We were greeted by a representative from Kandima who was very warm and welcoming who further guided us with our seaplane transfers.
Our flight from Malé to Kandima was about 30 to 40mins and it was the most scenic flights I have ever taken in all my life.
Our excitement only kept growing minute by minute.
The moment our plane landed on the blue sea, we were on cloud 9. And to add up to everything, we were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and we couldn't help but marvel and stroll across the expansive lobby.
Later we were escorted by a staff to our beach villa on a golf cart.
Our stay was divided into 2 different villa categories
The beach villa, that directly opened at the beach and you couldn't stop but admire the beauty and sunsets. There was a swing right outside our room. It was a private swing where I loved unwinding myself and catch the ocean breeze and let the beautiful landscape just sink in.
After 2 day, we moved to the Ocean villa with jacuzzi overlooking the Indian Ocean which was again a beauty that didn't disappoint us.
If you're lucky enough, you can even spot dolphins from here.
The rooms in both the categories had bright, fun and vibrant interiors.
Apart from just enjoying 2 different categories of rooms, there's a lot you can do at Kandima
Right from beginning your day with a very lavish spread of breakfast by the beach, to ending your day at one of their night parties or just a quaint candle light dinner, Kandima Maldives has a lot to offer.
1st day we just explored the property because it is a humongous property which is spread accross 3kms and is one of the largest properties in Maldives.
2nd day we started with the lovely breakfast spread. They have amazing amazing options for Indian food. As well as pure vegetarian food.
The plus point for us was, they even understood jain food and made preparations as per our liking.
The desserts counter is drooling. And you can't just have one!
Later we spent the day walking barefoot all over the beach and then take a dip in the blue waters until it was lunch time. Post lunch there was a pool party organized by Kandima. So we enjoyed the party which was a very different experience.
Later evening, we indulged in the baking workshop and at night we had a movie night with popcorn at the beach.
What a day it was💟
3rd day, we moved to our ocean villa, and asked the staff to arrange a Snorkel session for us.
We were taken to a designated place for snorkeling where we enjoyed viewing the amazing under water world of Maldives. It was vibrant and breathetaking. The marine life as well as the corals were something we had never witnessed so far.
The Snorkel place had a hammock. So we lay there for a while after the Snorkel session, feeling grateful for everything
Post lunch we spent some time in the jacuzzi we had at out villa. And stayed there until sunset because it was so relaxing and unwinding.
Late evening we left for our glow party that was organized by Kandima and they never failed to amaze us. We went to bed thinking how our 3 nights flew and next day we had to leave this piece of heaven.
Next day we wokeup with mixed emotions. Went around the property saying thankyou to everybody we met on the way for making this trip our most memorable and amazing one.
We took pictures at every spot we could because Kandima has a lot of pretty nooks and corners.
And with a heavy heart but bright smiles we had to say our goodbyes until we visit Kandima again💟
