All of us have a dream of travelling abroad, to see the world and immerse in diverse experiences. Well, I wasn't any different - and wished to vacay overseas. Like many others, my dream destination has always been The Maldives.
When I started planning my trip, I figured out that there are certain things that should be taken into consideration. Every planning comes with it's various challenges, especially your international vacation. So here I am, sharing some of the valuable tips required while traveling abroad.
1. Start planning early - preferably around four months ahead of your journey date, in order to get cheaper rates.
2. As soon as you plan where to go, what to do and where to stay - start booking!
3. Check all the details about getting a Visa. In case you get a Visa on arrival, there can be nothing better than that. If not, apply for a visa two months prior to the date of departure (depending on the destination).
4. Do your research properly. Read blogs by travellers who've been to that destination or watch YouTube videos to understand the number of days required to explore the place.
5. Make a proper itinerary, so that you can cover all that's there on your bucket list. But make sure to have enough time to customise and accommodate local experiences, while you're there!
6. Decide how much you're going to spend on the trip, depending on the number of days as well as how you want to explore.
7. Compare the currency exchange rate from different banks. Avoid exchanging at the airport or hotel, as the rate of exchange increases at these places. You can also carry Forex Cards, that'll help you in foreign transactions.
8. Check the weather forecasts of the country regularly. This will help you in packing as well, plus you'll be able to plan your days depending on how the days will be like.
I know that you're probably super excited to plan your first trip abroad. Hope these tips will be useful for you. In case you've got something more to add to this, please drop a comment below.
