Intramuros, the historical ‘Walled City’, offers many attractions to see though the idyllic Puerta Real Gardens is often overlooked. Located outside the south wall, this picturesque site is set amidst 18th century stone walls and features coconut palms and lovely gardens perfect for a relaxing stroll away from the hustle and bustle.

Manila Central Post Office

Those who love architecture or even capturing some great photographs of the city should head to the Manila Central Post Office that stands beside the Pasig River; dating to 1931, this grand neo-classical colonial building features Greco-Roman-style design, while inside, there’s a philatelic section ideal for stamp collectors too.

Salcedo Community Market

A foodie hotspot, the Salcedo Community Market is held every Saturday (7:00am - 2:00pm) offering fresh fruits and veggies, international cuisines (like paella), desserts, handicrafts and more. For those looking for an apartment for rent, Makati is an ideal choice offering easy access to such attractions. Note: the market is at the Paseo Centre parking area temporarily and will move back to Jaime Velasquez Park in December 2021.

Calvo Museum

The historical Escolta Street in the Binondo area is where you will find the unique Calvo Museum. Housed within a distinctive Beaux-Arts building that dates to 1938, the museum takes visitors on a journey to Manila’s past; fascinating exhibits include old movie posters, a vintage bottle collection and photos of the Battle of Manila.
