Starting my trip from Durg (chattisgarh)
Let i wanna tell you about MAINPAT
*Mainpat is a hill station and small village in the Surguja district in the northern part of the state of Chhattisgarh, India.
Mainpat is often called as Shimla of Chhattisgarh and Mini Tibet owing to its huge Tibetan population and influence over the area. The Tibetan refugees were rehabilitated in Mainpat after the Chinese invasion of Tibet and have since found a home in Mainpat. That’s another great thing about Mainpat, the confluence of cultures and diverse traditions only add to the picturesque village’s charm*
We planned our journey from Durg Chattisgarh which is near about 400 km far away from MAINPAT.
If you wish to go from other places the distance might be (Approximately) VIA ROAD 🛣️
VIA RAIPUR - 350 km
VIA RAJNANDGAON- 440 km
So we started our journey @ 8 Am in the morning from Durg via Bemetara to NH -130 ROUTE.
The condition of the road is very good and by 5 Pm we reached MAINPAT/ actually the name of the village is KAMLESHWARPUR.
By 6 Pm we searched our Hotel and finally we got one, the condition of which was Good, the rooms were clean and everything was fine.
HOTEL NAME - ANMOL RESORT AND RESTAURANT.
The cost of the hotel rooms were very economical
SUPER DELUXE ROOM - 2000/- per night
DELUXE ROOM - 1500/- per night.
By the end of the day we were tired and took dinner in the same resort and here we ended day 1 before that we had enquiry like the places to be visited and further things for next day.
Some glimpses while traveling ....
The Snap of Hotel and room (Exterior and interior) view
The day which planned to visit areas in and nearby Mainpat....
TIGER POINT (WATERFALL)
MEHTA POINT (SUNRISE POINT)
JALJALI (JUMPING LAND)
BOUDH TEMPLE
BUDDHA MONESTARY
FISH POINT (WATERFALL)
PARPATIYA VILLAGE (VIEW)
JALPARI (WATERFALL)
MAINPAT SUNSET POINT
ULTA PANI
THINTHINI PATTHAR
As the time was very less so we thought to cover as maximum places as possible.
We had Breakfast in the resort and we started our day by visiting
1. Buddha temple
2. Thereafter we went BUDDHA MONESTARY also known as DHAKPO MONESTARY
Owing to a large Buddhist population, Mainpat has some of the famous monasteries and Dhakpo is on the top of the list. This picturesque monastery is where many Tibetans take a vow and also interact with the Lamas as they are approachable here.
After having visited this MONESTARY we now went to :-
3. JALJALI .
The point is located at a distance of 15 km from the village, Jaljali is one of the awesome place to visit in Mainpat as it has an unusual land surface that has a bounciness like trampoline and its refered as BOUNCING LAND if you wish to experience the wonders of nature.
The next point we visited was
4.FISH POINT-
Situated in the deep hilly range, this place which is about 17 kms away from mainpat offers a scenic view alongside a river called Machali Nadi. This point is also known as the Fish Point owing to the number of fish species present in the river.
5. JALPARI - THE MERMAID
#the most unexplored place of MAINPAT
The local tale is prevalent among the people here that earlier Mermaids (Jalpari) were seen here.
This is the maximum stunning waterfall in Mainpat which falls from the top of approximately eighty meters. It is an ought to go to in case you ever go to Mainpat. It is located withinside the midst of dense forests so every time you go, take a traveler’s manual with you.
This small waterfall is BUDHANAG, and few people say it is JALPARI POINT. But reaching this place is not that easy because you have to walk more than 2 km from Fish point to get to this place. After visiting Jalpari Point, you will be fascinated to see this waterfall; it is the most beautiful waterfall in Mainpat. It is situated amidst hills about 17 km from the village.
After visiting such many places it was time to go for lunch and we had went back resort and had lunch and after 1 hour we were back to visit some special viewpoint which were left out.
6. TIGER POINT (WATERFALL)
One of the biggest waterfall in terms of height
This waterfall can be sited at the center of Mahadev Muda River and is bordered with lush green vegetation. Falling from a height of 60 m, one can enjoy the magnificent view of this waterfall from the decks built by the government. It is believed that tigers resided in this region many years ago and therefore, it is known as the Tiger Point.
So by the end of 6 Pm it was the time to visit MAINPAT SUNSET POINT.
So we reached our destination after having visited Tiger point by 6.15 Pm and saw the beautiful sunset view from the point
So thereafter we went tired and and were back to resort having completed our day 2 trip.
The day was full of fun and entertainment and tiredness and we took rest as we have to get up early next day to sight beautiful sunrise 🌄.
We get up 4.30 am early in the morning as here in MAINPAT the sun rises early something about 5.15 Am. So we visited the SUNRISE POINT
7 . MEHTA POINT (SUNRISE POINT)
The main Surise point if MAINPAT
After all we went back to our hotel and took breakfast and check out from hotel as we were going to end the journey lastly by visiting ULTAPANI
8. ULTAPANI ( THE MAGNETIC HILL)
also known as BISARPANI , ULTAPANI is know for its Zero gravity zone where Issac Newton's law seems to get failed where water flows in opposite direction and the vehicle moves upward without any force
so by this we said end to Mainpat.
Now here only one last place which was left out was THINTHINI PATTHAR. ( The ROCK with different sounds)
The area is far from MAINPAT near Ambikapur Airport.
By this we said happy ending to our trip.
The trip was full of fun and happiness as we had covered a lot many places in very less time without wasting our time.
Travel Tip.
There are no sign boards deployed for tourist spots in Mainpat and also the internet connectivity is less due to high altitude which is why it is advisable to ask locals for directions.
