Hello Monsoon!! Welcome to Mumbai.. Guys just look outside your office its beautiful weather out there. Monsoon has reach on time to Mumbai this year and you should appreciate his effort . So I have list down few treks that I want to finish in this monsoon and I hope it will help you guys also.
1. Rajgad
Rajgad is a hill fort situated in Pune ,Maharashtra. 'Raj' means Royal as the name suggests it is a royal fort . It is popularly known for its fascinating architecture. The most amazing part of the trek is sunrise from Balekilla, lush green Sahyadri range.
Trek difficulty level: moderate.
BEST SEASON: September-October
Base villages to start trek: from Pali takes 2 1/2 hours and 3 1/2 hours via gunjawane

2. Harihar Fort
48km away from Igatpuri Harihar fort is situated in Nashik district. One can travel from Kasara to trimbkeshwar by bus or any private vehicle.Harihar is famous for its trigular prism shape and rock carved staircases.
Trek difficulty level: Medium(Height of Fort 3676 ft.)
BEST SEASON: July To March
Base villages to start trek: Nirgudwadi (Shared Jeep or ST bus are available.)
3. Andharban Trek
Andharban (or Dark Forest) is a dense forest located near Pimpri in Maharashtra, an hour and a half away from Lonavala. Andharban trek is an ideal monsoon trek, shaded for the most part, and its specialty is that it’s a descending trail all the way. This is an evergreen Sahyadri forest, covered in mist and dreamy forest landscape in the Tamhini Ghats.
The foliage is abundantly thick with cascading waterfalls as well as still water ponds. You will enjoy stunning views of Kundalika Valley and amazing species of flora and fauna. People also go night trekking in Andharban.

4. Bhimashankar Trek
Situated in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra and covering an area of about 120km, Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary is fast emerging as a popular weekend getaway from Mumbai and Pune. The area around Bhimashankar is covered with thick dense jungle and is home to the endangered giant squirrels, this wildlife protected are boasts of rich flora and fauna and offers spectacular views of its lush green forests and the Sahyadri mountain range that surrounds the sanctuary.
The place is yet to be fully discovered by the tourists and therefore still exudes a serene and rustic charm. Bhimashankar also attracts pilgrims and devotees to the sacred Jyotiralinga Temple located amidst the wilderness. Its nature trail is an easy short trek near Pune where you can soak in the natural wild beauty of the forest.

5. Peb Fort
Trekking near Mumbai to Peb Fort or Vikatgad around 4 km from Neral Station a very enjoyable trek in Monsoon season passing through a local village, waterfalls this trek offers all ladders, rock patches, caves, dense forest, ridge walking. Trek can be combined with Matheran visit or you can trek till Panorama point Matheran till here.
