If there's one thing the pandemic has made me value, it's a vacation! After being confined at home in Mumbai (You know the average space of a Mumbai flat) for over 8 months, an open and humongous space is what my soul was craving.
I had been longing to enjoy a mask-free vacation. Is that even possible I asked myself? Turns out it is at Villa 30 in Khandala. A 4BHK villa which is home to the brightest space, a private lawn and pool that will remind you what sunshine feels like (Because clearly all of us have forgotten.)
I hadn't known about this place for the longest time, and now it's a secret I want to share because it's PERFECT for your next weekend getaway. Why you ask? Read on...
- Accessible Location: Weekend getaways are supposed to be relaxing and so should be your journey. Villa 30 is only a 1.5 hour from Mumbai and Pune which means you reach your vacation destination in no time. The best part? You don't have to worry about crossing the Lonavala market traffic or get lost in the many lanes there, Villa 30 is super easy to get to from the highway. Alternatively, the train station is less than 10 mins away, so if you wish to travel by train, that's a definite option too.
- Humongous Villa with Contemporary Interiors: A vacation is all about having the luxury of space, right? Villa 30 has a humongous living cum dining room that's perfect for a large group or even a small group because extra space never hurts. The living room has direct access to the pool and lawn which invites a lot of natural light, sound of chirping birds, and breeze that makes you feel that good vibe all day. The outdoor area is where we spent a lot of our time enjoying the picturesque view through the evenings and moonlit nights, once the sun sets, it gets nippy there and that's definitely fun.
- Warmest Villa Hosts: A large part of the villa vacation is often determined by the hosts, and at Villa 30 we were in for a hearty experience because the in-house caretakers - Sayali, Santosh, Ashok made us feel at home. They were friendly and ensured that we were comfortable at all times; yet they were never intruding, they would enter and exit through the kitchen's back door which maintains the guests' privacy, they would only enter the villa to serve food. - Soulful Food: We were pleased with the home-cooked meals at Villa 30. They had the perfect balance of comfort and taste! Since Villa 30 is nestled in Khandala, Maharastra, we were on the receiving end of some piping hot Vada Pavs (The best we've had, and it's coming from a Mumbaikar), Misal Pav, and Pav Bhaji. The caretakers are happy to accommodate meal requests if possible, with the available resources.
- Safe Experience: The stay experience at Villa 30 is safe on all fronts. The villa is a part of a gated community with security. As for the new normal, there's a mandatory temperature screening for guests upon arrival, followed by flashing of the Aarogya Setu app indicating you are safe status. The villa is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before the arrival of guests.
We witnessed the pool getting thoroughly cleaned for our usage and it made us feel extremely safe. We dived into a pool after what felt like an eternity! There's a sanitizing station at the entrance of the villa for you to keep sanitizing for your personal safety.
